    I really miss the original

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 23, 2003 | 3 out of 3 found this Blade Runner (1982) review helpful

I have to say that I felt alone for a long time on this issue, until I saw the other comments. This is one of my all time favorite movies, but the directors cut just feels empty without the voice over. Ridley Scott is a great director, but in this ca...se the studio knew better. If the original was released on DVD, I would run to the store to buy it. Read more Less

    Blade Runner

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 17, 2004 | 1 out of 1 found this Blade Runner (1982) review helpful

    Pros: It's on DVD

Cons: It's only available in directors cut version!!!

Have been looking for the DVD version with Harrison Ford doing the voice over throughout the film forever! Makes it much easier to follow. I have it on VHS & it's 100% better than the directors cut. If anyone knows where to get the NR version wit...h the voice narration, PLEASE let me know. Why must directors ruin a movies when they were perfect as they were? Read more Less

Blade Runner Director's Cut Vs. The Good

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 19, 2002 | 1 out of 1 found this Blade Runner (1982) review helpful

I cannot in all honesty say that I consider the Director's Cut to be the "good" version, but rather the original home video release with the much-loved voice-over is the good one. The voice-over explains a lot, and adds a lot more humanity to the Ri...ck Deckard character in the film. I can only hope that Warner Home Video will receive enough demands from fans so that they will consider it to be cost effective to release the good version on DVD in the near future. Read more Less

    I didn't like the Director's Cut

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 22, 2006

    Pros: great original movie

Cons: not as good as original

I LOVED the original theatrical version. It is one of my favorite movies of all time, but I'd stay away from this one. Without giving away a spoiler this version adds certain "effects" to the actors eyes that pretty much hands the story... to you on a silver platter. No mystery. No wondering. Just "here it is"... as if you are too stupid to figure things out for yourself. Read more Less

    Bring back the original version

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 2, 2002

I can't believe they're releasing yet another version without the voiceover. To me, the Director's Cut is just a waste - might as well be a coaster.

I agree with most of you...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 3, 2002

    I won`t spend $50.00 either..if I can`t have the original version....Why not let the viewer choose?????

I think the film seems boring without the narration....it helps considerable with the pace of the film...

    Great classic sci-fi movie!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 26, 2002

Harrison Ford was great as a futuristic detective and Ruger Hauer was awesome as the human/robotic trying to live longer by trying to find the creator. The movie was great and it depends on which version you like. I wish they had both on the same DVD... would be great. Anyway if you love Ruger Hauer in this movie you would love hime in another futuristic movie called "Blood of the Heros" with Joan Chen. I recommend you to see it. I wish they make a DVD version, cause it's better than most of his other movies on DVD. Read more Less

    I won't buy this DVD

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 26, 2002

Additions are great, but omissions are annoying. I read these reviews and because the original film has been altered I will not buy this DVD. Would it have killed someone just to include another DVD with the original LaserDisc version on it? It's ...already digital. Thumbs down to whoever produced this version. Read more Less

Please Find The First run of this movie

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 26, 2002

I seen the original version of this movie and the first laserdisk version (2 big lp size laser disks) of this movie. and they both rock hard. this "directors cut" is a politically correct ET LIKE remake that cheapens the acting capability of all who... is in this movie. dont buy this dvd, it leaves me cold and wondering why they messed with a classic movie. heck, they might as well of made it black and white and made thier lips move funny!!!!!!!!!!IMHO thumbs down!!!!!
