A Note to the people who gave this album anything less than 5 stars: Would you rather have Nellyville?Every single track has something for everyone. From the food 4 thought on "Love" and "New World Water" to the bangers "Ms.Fat Booty" "Know That" or ..."Do It Now" Mos is consistant on this album. He is reflective ("Hip Hop" and "Rock N Roll") He is funny ("Got" "Fear Not of Man" and "Mr.Nigga") He's a teacher ("Mathematics" and "Umi Says") and so on.Most important, he never overdoes it. I'd rather listen to an artist not do ENOUGH than do TOO MUCH. But Mos doesn't do eigther. He's on point. Check his crazy flow on "Brooklyn" and the great concept of "Habitat". He has a great voice and he's interesting 'cause you never know what he'll say next. Dope stuff Mos Def! Read more Less

I mean, I don't mind the movie appearances, the broadway actin and the featurings in other albums, but it's been almost 3 years now. I know you got something to say!!!! If somebody deserves the 5 stars, then Mos Def definitely does. This is a sparkling experimental rap album, musically reaches far beyond the everyday rap standards.Mos Def's music might sound strange for most people, but this record is definitely wor...th giving a shot. My favorite track is Ms. Fat Booty. This is how to make a great hip-hop track, I'm pretty sure it'll be considered as a classic one pretty soon! Read more Less

Over-Rated

I'm gettin' sick of all these Mc's acting like their more unique than everyone. The only cut on here is "Ms.Fat Booty". "Mathematics" is the worst premo beat ever. People such as Mos Def and Lauryn Hill are very arrogant and over-rated. All they want... to do now is sing. Blackstar and the FuGees were decent but not this solo garbage. Read more Less

Its a good cd, but comparing it to his tracks on BLACKSTAR this cant compare. If i was Mos Def I would make another Blackstar CD with Talib Kweli and DJ Hi TEck and then that cd would be off the hezzie
