Atmospheric Seattle, WAbased indie rock outfit Black Whales formed in 2008 around the talents of vocalist/guitarist Alex Robert, guitarist/keyboardist Alan Foote, drummer/percussionist Davey Brozowski, bassist Ryan Middleton, and keyboard player/percussionist Mike Bayer. Employing the spacious rainy neotraditional popinfused folkrock aesthetic of fellow Pacific Northwest shapeshifters like the Moondoggies and the Cave Singers, Black Whales released their debut EP, Origins, in 2009.
