Ápos 6 anos de seu ultimo lançamento de inéditas ( Down to Earth que alguns gostaram e outros nem tanto ) o Madman volta com Black Rain.
E trata-se de uma grande volta, pois mostra um OZZY OSBOURNE bastante revigorado em relação ao que lançou Down to Earth em 2001, época em que ele estava passando por sérios problemas de saúde.
Not going away: uma música muito pesada e moderna ( o que pode desagradar alguns radicais ) com a guitarra de Zakk Wylde com um timbre um pouco diferente do que ele tem usado mas arrebentando tudo e Ozzy com um vocal muito agressivo. Um bom cartão de visitas.
I don´t wanna stop : o single, música de fácil assimilação com aquele refrão que gruda na cabeça na primeira ouvida.
Black rain: Música bem trabalhada com letra anti-guerra, possui um bom refrão com ótimos backing vocals.
Lay your world on me : A primeira balada, conta um timbre bem legal de bateria e uma bela melodia de Ozzy. A letra fala sobre a batalha de Sharon contra o câncer.
God bless the almighty dollar : a melhor do CD, em seus 7 mim. desfila diversos climas, que tem como tema central um ótimo groove de baixo de Blasko. Ozzy coloca uma das melhores interpretações de sua carreira. Só essa já valeria a compra do CD.
11 Silver : Música rapida com a melhor performance de Zakk Wylde em todo o trabalho, alías nesse CD Zakk deu muito mais atenção as texturas de guitarra do que aos solos em si.
Civilize the unverse : Música bem climática que tem o melhor refrão do CD. Impossivel não sair cantando depois da primeira ouvida.
Here for you : Balada bem ao estilo Ozzy. É uma homenagem aos fãs, com belo solo do Zakk, simples mas muito bonito.
Countdown´s begun : Bom riff de ínicio e outro bom refrão.
Trap Door : Bem moderna e cheia de diferentes climas tambem, fecha muito bem o CD.
Ozzy sempre lança bons trabalhos e este não é diferente e alem disso ele é um artista que sempre tenta reinventar e modernizar seu som sem perder as carcterístcas que o tornaram um dos maiores dentro do Rock.
Se vc acha que para gravar um bom CD o Ozzy deveria regravar o Blizzard of Ozz ou o No more tears, passe longe. Se esse não for o caso corra e compre o seu.

| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews To a certain extent, Ozzy Osbourne doesn't need to make new music and to a certain extent he hasn't, choosing to not record an album of original material in the years immediately after the reality TV show The Osbournes once again turned him into a household name. At the peak of Ozzy's fame in the early '80s, he was a boogeyman, embodying all the dangers of rock roll, but the TV show made him safe, even cuddly a punch line at the White House Foreign Correspondent's Dinner which just helped him rake in the money, particularly since in addition to riding the wave of The Osbournes, his annual OzzFest tour turned into an institution of sorts, helping launch new bands while tending to his metal credibility. Now, that is a rock roll machine, one driven entirely by personality, not new musical product, and one that was nearly in perpetual motion, never needing new grist for the mill to turn a profit. Yet there's always a risk that an enterprise like that could grow a bit stale, even with the occasional box sets, live albums, and cover records to keep things humming. And so, Ozzy finally got around to a new album original material, releasing Black Rain in the summer of 2007, a full six years after Down to Earth, his last album of originals, and well past the sellby date of his TV show proof that this record isn't about cashingin, it's about keeping the Osbourne machine rolling. |

Pros: Very creative and diverse. Ozzy's voice is fine shape
Cons: Too short guitar solos
This is the best Ozzy album since Diary of a madman. By far more creative and diverse than Down to earth. Sound is crystal clear. Songs are this little more progressive. Guitar riffs have bite. Guitar solos are great but too short. But that's a probably only downpoint. The almighty dollar is the most suprising song since No more tears. Lyrics on this album are very political and Ozzy has a lot to say. He even sings about the climate change. A classic album with few flaws. Welcome back Ozzy!
