Jet Li--Black Mask
Don't get me wrong, jet has been better. But he goes out on a limb on this movie by playing a masked man rather than a kung fu student of some sort. He preforms quite well though along with the hot francoise yip. Overall if you like Jet Li and you like action then get this movie. I'm out.

Even though this movie's plot was thin, the action scenes were excellent. The kung-fu in this movie was both flashy and efficient.Watch this one just for the fight scenes.

The action for this movie was kind of okay. The plot for was kind of vague to me. If you are a Jet Li fan like me you expect more out of the movie. Although as always I like to see Jet fight and when it come to that he is always awesome.

I haven't exactly received my DVD but I know black mask is very good because I've seen already thats why I want to own a black mask DVD.

This reminds me a little of robo cop, at some point (hopefully early on) you need to consciously switch off your anti-violence in media alert switch and appreciate the other elements of the film.
The violence is intense, resplite with body parts, gushing blood, painful body slams, prolific explosives, and death everywhere. Is the violence necessary. No. Does it further the artistic point? Yes and No. Yes, instilling the level of violence into the movie gives us a rutherless coloring of the future, a high powered beat 'em up environment where your best bet is to get out of the way and stay locked up in your apartment....
on the other hand...
The director could have gotten away with half the level of violence and not alienated a hefty portion of his audience early on.
anyway, the plusses of the movie include:
- choregraphed fight scenes that were tremendous. note especially the fast walk off the wall.
- a solid plot of growth, friendship, a future of peace.
- the famous hong kong style of fast editing.

as a long time jet li fan, this is one of the worse movie to come out of hong kong! the fight scenes are so fake! dont even bother renting this movie old jet li fans. if your a new fan, chk it out and be disappointed.

how the hell can you people like this movie? i'm a martial art movie fan and i thought this one was so bad. Fist of legend was the best but this one was a shame to me. it looks so fake and his moves were cut so much that i couldn't figure out anything.

This is a Kick-A$$ flick. With non-stop action and the best martial arts sequences in decades. Any lover of martial arts films will love this movie. A must for your collection

This was a great movie. Jet Li is awesome, and the fight choreography is beautiful. Best of all, the film is intelligent enough to not take itself too seriously. The result is an hysterical comedy, sprinkled with incredible action.

You really have to go into this movie expecting to see a superhero flick with some kung-fu. Also expect the usual cheesiness that comes with most Chinese flicks. But anyone who knows Chinese film, will immediately see how this is one of the 'biggest budget movies' ever made in China.
