NOT ROCK.... but still rocks!!!
, June 9, 2000Reviewer: justplaininsane - See all justplaininsane's reviews1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this Black Aria review helpful I must stress that this is NOT a rock album. It is different from all of Glen's past work as it is completely instrumental. But it shows just how talented he really is. Although it may not fall in to the category of one of the best classical pieces of all time, it is still wonderful with the picture it paints in your mind as you listen to it (might i suggest laying relaxed in the dark). Worth having, especially if you are an avid fan of Glen Danzig. -

Pro Reviews: Black Aria
| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews In an attempt to expand on the more atmospheric excursions of How the Gods Kill, Glenn Danzig composed this mostly instrumental work, which was heavily influenced by opera and classical music. While Danzig's willingness to experiment for a potentially rigid heavy metal audience is admirable, and while Black Aria does do a good job of evoking a mood of melancholy darkness, it also doesn't make much of an impression, as Danzig largely neglected to compose melodies. - Steve Huey, All Music Guide |
