Pros: Dripless carafe, No problems at all, would buy another
Cons: None
What I've experienced in the past is most carafes are made wrong and will drip when pouring the water in or the coffee out. This one doesn't! I have also experienced the lack of judgement on just how long you can keep the carafe off the warmer when the coffe is brewing. You must understand that while it is brewing , the water is still coming into the coffee basket and you have shut off the outlet when you remove the carafe and you can pour approximately 2 cups of coffee before you had better put the carafe back in place. If you don't the basket will run over, and you will have grinds, coffee and a big mess all over your counter. I have also found that "Bun" filters are a little taller than most other filters and this will help some if you are the type that likes extra thick coffee. This will produce a little more space in the basket for a large amount of grinds. On the average I brew 3 pots a day.
Pros: Very good, basic coffee maker
Cons: none
Been using this coffeemaker for over 4 years now. We make about 3 pots of coffee per day in our house. It is always reliable, makes a good basic pot of coffee and you can't beat the cost. No complaints. It's no wonder this got top ratings in it's class from Cooks Illustrated and other companies that do consumer product testing.
When this one finally dies, I will buy the same machine again.
Pros: None
Cons: Not a product of B&D
I bought a B&D 12 cup maker last December. The warming plate lasted less than a month and the time wouldn't set, I could live with the clock not setting. So I bought another one in January, the time wouldn't set and the warming plate again didn't last over a month. Knowing B&D as a very good company, I contacted them about these defects. Was I ever shocked to learn that B&D has nothing to do with the production of these machines. B&D lets companies buy the right to use their logo on products. I was advised to contact a company in another country. That was the end of me and B&D. I am loving my GE 12 cup digital coffee maker I bought at WalMart. I even bough my son one a few months later I love it so much. This thing talks to you. Lets you know when it is done brewing, when it's time to clean it, has features to set the strength of your coffee and I set the temp for the warming plate.
Pros: Good brew at first.
Cons: Don't last.
We are being had by ALL manufacturer's. None of them last long enough. They want it that way. And WHY, after all these years can't we poor a cup without making a mess. A perfect pouring lip shouldn't be that hard to make.
Pros: none
Cons: none
Buying a cheap coffee maker does not make sense. You want this one? Buy 2 cause it will last about 4 months. Hazard perhaps, this one will not always shut off itself. Water leakage, plenty of this to entertain you. Just because B & D makes a dandy drill, doesn't mean they know coffee makers. Never Again will I purchase a B&D product for the Kitchen, keep'm in the garage.
Pros: programmable easy to use & care for
Cons: can't use quick fill feature
This is a GREAT coffemaker for the price!! I have owned three of the Black & Decker coffeemakers. One I overfilled several times and it leaked and stopped working. I had had it for about three years and used it daily. I got another one just like it and also purchased a 5 cup version I liked the first two so much! You cannot fill a single cup of coffee by moving the carafe while brewing. The cutover never works. I can live with that. I have never had a problem with rusting because I clean up. Never had a problem with the coffee spilling out as it brews. The hot plate does lose the black surface but that is not a problem. I learned not to try to pour too fast or the coffee will spill. I put two coffee filters in the basket to cut down on the bitterness. That helps. I highly recommend this model.
Pros: timer
Cons: everything else you can think of.. It is the slowest brewing coffee maker ever made.
I bought one of these coffee maker once and I ended up junking it afer only 6 months. I could get up start coffee and I had to wait about 25 minutes for the coffee to be ready. Sucks. Then quit working after 6 months.
Pros: not expensive
Cons: has too many things wrong with it
Out first Black and Decker coffee pot was the under the cabinet style. Had it for almost 5 years and never a problem. Finally was time for a new one. Got another B&D, but wanted a change, so we got a counter one. BAD MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!Can't pour without it always going every where but in the cup. The heater burns and gets black within a few months. Doesn't keep the coffee hot enough. Never again. I would rather pay more, and have one that is dependable and without all of the hassles.
Pros: Good design,
Cons: None
This is our 4th or 5th B&D coffeemaker of this design. It's the best value for the price. I love the stealing of a first cup full of aroma. The new models have a better pot design that does not leak when pouring the water into the coffee maker. The auto shut down is great and prevents coffee from getting too old or burnt to the bottom of the pot after all the water evaporates.
It's true, the heating elements only last about a year with daily use but what do you want for a low low price. Go to Walmart and get a new one.
If it fails before the warranty expires, B&D service is great, just call, give them the code that is stamped into the plug and a new coffeemaker is on it's way.
Pros: Makes good coffee !
Cons: none
This is your basic coffee maker and it works just fine ... don't know what all the griping is about. And I paid $14.95 which makes it a steal, it has worked for 3 years and still going strong.
Pros: It makes good coffee
Cons: to many features, for this price all I want is on/off
I have had $200.00+ coffee makes and this unit, I got to say the net result--coffee form this maker is good. They burn out in a year or so, and I have had about three. But my $200.00 went out a little after a year, and made no better coffee. Hey for the money it is a great value.
Pros: functional
Cons: Heating unit is rust prone, and filter basket doesn't drain efficiently
I'm not picky and have never written a product review before, but I've been so annoyed by the poor product design of the Black and Decker coffee maker that I wonder if they even tested it. I wanted cheap and functional coffee maker--no bells or whistles. Withing months of purchase, the heating bed developed large patches of rust. Annoying but less significant is the fact that the grounds never dry in the drip basket. Even a full day later, the used grounds are a sloppy mess.
Pros: Sneak-a-cup before done brewing
Cons: None
This is my second Black & Decker! My boyfriend accidently broke the first. We immediately ran out, replacing with identical maker because of our overwhelming satisfaction & confidence in this model. We love the features. We love the coffee!
Pros: programmable
Cons: water and coffee EVERYWHERE!
the heat plate peeled and you don't notice that it doesn't heat up well until one day it scorches everything. you have to pour it over a sink because you lose up to a cup of water just pouring it into the resevoir, then lose more every time you pour a cup of coffee. the pause and pour works great until you wash the machine and the little parts fall off and can never be found again. the pot does not fit in well and coffee spills.
Pros: makes coffee!!!
Cons: works most of the time
This is most certainly not pour perfect. Coffee goes everywhere, I have to pour over the sink. It seems cheaply made. I remove the pot to pour a cup,and when I try to put the carafe back it doesn't seem to want to go properly. There have been a few times I turned it on and it didn't work. However, when I turned it off and back on it was ok. Coffee also doesn't seem to remain hot for long. So far. Hey it wasn't expensive (it was on sale when I bought it) so you get what you pay for.
Pros: makes good coffee
Cons: does not pour well. Hard to clean. cheap
This is the worst coffeemaker I have owned. The hot plate began to peel and rust within 45 days of use. BD did replace it, but said not again. The replacement did the same thing within the same amount of time. This has to be the worst value out there. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT PURCHASE.
Pros: Pause and Serve
Cons: Leaks
The Pause and Serve works well, but eventually other parts leak and the coffee maker fails.
Pros: dripless pour
Cons: it's a black and decker
I bought all Black and Decker under-the-counter products at one time so i could get appliances off the counter. The coffee pot was just ok, nothing exceptional about it. The can opener was the biggest piece of junk i ever owned. Called customer service and was on the phone with them trying to find model numbers, etc. They acted like i was lying to them. There must have been 15 or 20 emails back and forth, well, what color is the cord of your model, yadda,yadda,yadda....on and on. I finally said, you know what, just forget it, which is exactly what they wanted to hear. I still stand by my comment to them...YOU'LL NEVER SELL ME ANYTHING ELSE....and they haven't...Black and Decker name on anything...i'll buy something else, from a company that actually supports their product.
Pros: It's really cheap
Cons: You get what you pay for
This was a family re-gift and we had a Krups machine that was working fine. I compared the design and the functionality by running just hot water thru the B&D unit and the Krups. The Krups had a much smoother operation, was hotter, and the fit and feel was much better. B&D puts their name on a wide array of garbage.
Pros: nice features
Cons: very difficult to clean, coffee splashes all over
there has got to be better coffee makers out there
Pros: No Drip Pour,Good hot coffee
Cons: None
The no drip pot is great.
This coffee maker makes a good pot of hot
coffee.
A great coffee maker for the price.
Pros: couldn't ask for more
Cons: I have nothing bad to say about this coffeepot
This is the second one of this brand of coffeepot. We have two families using this pot and none of us have any complants. I think it is a really great value for the money. Before buying this one I thought
I'd try a different one, don't ask me why but I bought a Mr.Coffee, had it 2 days and returned it for my Black and Decker and will always stay with them.
Pros: i unplug it after each use because i keep the time flashing saving electricity lol
Cons: makes a decent cup of coffee
i will enjoy it for now.
