Pros: picks up dirt and loose hairs
Cons: clogs, empty every few minutes
I loved this when i first got it but after 3 months it stopped working. i took it back because it was under warrenty and they gave me another one. This one worked for 6 months. Now it won't pick up anything. Have to constanly clean out bristles and reach up into tube to get hairs. It is not worth the high price it is sold for. I will not ber getting another Bissell. My dogs are shedders and we do better rubbing the rugs with the bottom of my daughter's sneakers and gathering the hairs by hand. Not a good experience.
Pros: Great suction
Cons: On board attachments, adequate
I bought this vacuum yesterday and vacuumed my whol house. I knew my old vacuum was so so but did not realize how much dirt and dust it left behind. I emptied the canister after each room and could see why I was sneezing so much. It was unbelievable how much was left behind. This vacuum is so powerful it seems like a self-propelled vacuum. I did not see any dust flying in the air like with other vacuums. I wanted a powerful vacuum with cyclonic action, a hepa filter (this one had two filters) and that cost less than $200. This one has it all. I would highly recommend this vacuum for anyone with allergies and/or pets to buy this one for cost saving benefits. An excellent choice for everyone. I think it is better than a dyson--does the same job and costs much less.
Pros: It picks up dog and cat hair.
Cons: After removing the bucket to empty, it leaves a mess.
This appliance works so much better than the Dirt Devil I had previously. It is like a dream! The only problem is that when I empty the bucket, there is dirt in the chamber above the bucket that drops down into the bucket area and it is difficult to clean. But that inconvenience is minimal compared to the way it picks up hair and dirt. Thanks, Bissell!
Pros: Seemed like a great idea
Cons: Heavy, clunky, fur clogs machine, messy filter, and lots of frustration
I wish I could get my money back. It's really down the drain with this one.
Pros: Canister works very well
Cons: Everything else is terrible
This seemed like the perfect vacuum. I have 2 cats and cat hair is a headache. I also wanted a canister for the stairs. Well, the canister works fine. But the upright is awful. It worked okay for the first fiew months, even though it's such a pain to have to empty that filthy canister 2 or 3 times each time I vac. Emptying it made half the mess as it picked up, so it takes much longer to vacuum the house now. But now there seems to be no suction in the upright. It does a great job of balling up cat hair so I can pick it up by hand!!! It's probably plugged, but why market it for pet hair when the pet hair plugs it up? I'm getting my old reliable Hoover back from my daughter and I'm going to buy her a new Hoover. Then I'll use the Bissell canister for the stairs. I absolutely hate this machine!!!!! What a waste of money!!! (the one star for "Overall" is for the canister)
Pros: None
Cons: Heavy off-balanced clunker, always clogging.
Thats right . . the worst household chore in our home used to be cleaning the toilets . .
Now, no one wants to vac. Might have to empty the "easy empty" dirt container! Impossible contraption to empty, keep clean, and stop from clogging. Not sure if anyone actually reads these reviews . . first time I ever felt compelled to write one . . I hate this machine ...guessI'll buy a Hoover . . and one that uses a bag!!!!
Pros: None!
Cons: Clogs and fried itself
Seriously if you have more than a cat, this is not the vaccuum for anyone!! We have two rabbits and a cat and this vaccuum clogs!! It only worked the way it was supposed to about two months and then it was problem after problem after problem. Finally today it fried itself! Never again will I buy a Bissell. We bought a $30 dirt devil and that vaccuum lasted us almost four years!!
Pros: Looks nice.
Cons: Overpriced, Shabby construction.
We bought this vaccuum only about 3 months ago, it was nearly 200 bucks with tax. It looked like exactly what we needed, especially since we have a 100 lb. Lab who sheds all over the place. For the first couple months it worked great, picking up everything in sight. Then suddenly it stopped working altogether. The brushes stopped rotating, I even cleaned them out, still would not work. Upon close inspection it is just a big platic piece of junk. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra cash on something that will last (i.e. Dyson, Oreck, etc.)Never buying a Bissell again.
Pros: Outweighed by Cons
Cons: Problems within first few months
Problems with brush turning began in month 3. Now, in month 7, brush only turns on highest setting and suction is diminished. My dissatisfaction with vacuum is equaled by my dissatisfaction with a Bissell customer "service" rep who told me he doubted what I told him about my never having to replace a belt in the first year for any vacuum I ever owned. He also suggested that I vacuumed "only every month or so" with the other vacuums and more often with Bissell.
Pros: Good idea with lift off canister, turbo brush
Cons: Clogs, pet hair backs up into system, difficult to clea
The first few months I didn't experience too much trouble although I had to constantly be emptying the cup and pulling fur and dust out of the upper filter which is just messy. I think theis vacuum creates as much mess as it purports to clean up. More recently, the floor brush cylinder just kept jamming up and wouldn't spin and keeps burning out the belt. It just wasn't designed well. I doubt it is even worth repairing. I loved the lift off canister for doing the stairs, but overall the vacuum was a bust. Can not recommend.
Pros: Easy to push, lightweight, has all I need
Cons: seems clunky but I bought a 5 yr warranty
I didn't have the money to spend much more than I did on this vacuum and this appeared to be the best value for the money. Then I got it home and put it to work. It "glides" and doesn't require a lot of pushing so it is good for my bad back. With three dogs and a cat, the attachments allow me to dust and not have hair just go everywhere. I can use the attachments and suck up the hair, dander, and dust on anything from my blinds to my furniture. I can follow up with a little furniture polish and I'm done. I have wood and tile floors throughout the house and it does a great job at cleaning the floors, as well as the rugs. I did read that these type do not last but a couple of years and to spend more money for a vacuum that would last a lifetime. Best Buy offered a full warranty on the entire unit for $20 so I figured it will pay for itself in two years or more if I start to have problems. It does appears kind of clunky in some places and the attachments are either falling out or hard to get out. I can deal with it though for its cleaning power.
Pros: Longer hose to reach stairs
Cons: Clogs, clogs, clogs
This did not meet my expectations. I have two big dogs that shed. The furniture brush is a big disappointment. The hair gets wound around the revolving brissles and they stop moving. My husband had to take the brush apart to get the hair out. Next time I used it, the same thing happened. The bottom filter of the vaccum gets clogged very easily -- the pet hair does NOT go through that filter, and to unclog the vacuum, you have to remove that filter. When you remove the filter, it makes a huge mess, and I have to use ANOHTER vacuum to clean up the mess! Unfortunately I went back to using my Phantom Brand vacuum and this one is sitting in the closet.
Pros: Stylish
Cons: Just about everything about it
Did not come close to meeting my expectations. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and really needed this $180 vacuum to do the trick, but it failed me. Really horrible on my tile and wood floors. Would not recommend this produce! My $50 Bissell picks up 100 times better!
Pros: very powerful, picks up pet hair
Cons: none
This is by far the best vacuum I have ever owned. Very powerful suction picks up even stubborn pet hair and dirt. I own a border collie whos hair gets deep in the carpet, and this vacuum picked it up so easily. This vacuum is well worth the price! I recommend it to anyone who has indoor dogs, you will love it.
