I do care what people think, but we don't need to here some of the curse words that people use to describe what they think...Keep yourcomments to the infantile group you hang with...

    Crap

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 29, 2000

Man... this CD might be a representative of 1992's best music... but was the music of 1992 that good in the first place? No.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 28, 2000

Sure, this music sucks now, but in 1992, this was the popular music. I remember hearing all the songs on the CD. It is a pretty accurate record of the music of 1992.

    Hide This CD Away

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 27, 2000

It's miserable to think that this steaming collection of crud was once popular. Was John Secada really popular? No, really, was he? I swear he served me my Big Mac and fries the other day. It seems that most to all of Billboard's "Greatest Hits" are in fact cheesy pop crap not worth giving a second listen to. Honestly there are some songs on this CD I'd never even heard of. And with the state of popular music today, as watered down and sugar coated as ever, don't expect anything promising out of Billboard's future collections. Ballads ballads ballads! We made this crap popular, that is something to bear in mind. Not all of us mind you. I didn't. The thought of owning a Right Said Fred CD makes me physically ill. And I know there are a lot of others who feel the same way. But the majority felt otherwise, which is why Billboard was stuck releasing this, thing. I think it was John F. Kennedy that said, "Eat Me Kriss Kross! I'm Pro-Nirvana!" Or at least I think it was JFK. It was dark and foggy and I was drunk, not to mention the fact that he's been dead for 37 years. The only other thing that's bothering me is, why can't I get "I'm Too Sexy." out of my head now? I need help.

    Could have done much better...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 27, 2000

How could you do a best of '92 album without taking note of the full scope of how eclectic the music charts truly where? 1992 marked the biggest years in the history of Guns 'n' Roses, Hammer, Michael Jackson, U2, Metallica (who co-headed the summer's biggest tour with G'N'R that year), and a number of up-and-coming 'alternative' artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, and the Spin Doctors. What about Positive K's hit, "I Got A Man," House Of Pain's "Jump Around," or a track by Arrested Development? Let's think the effort through a little better next time...

Who In The Hell Made This One Up?

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 27, 2000

Ah hello? Did they take the worst songs from 1992 and put them on a CD so nobody would buy them? They need to pull this one off the shelf right now, and think a little harder as to if they want to put another one of these Billboard greatest hits CD again.

Strange grouping of hits here, I think that some of the tunes are alright, but you know, the others are right-you have to have Pearl Jam or Nirvana or someone like that if you are gonna do the big hits from c.late '91-96 or so, esp to '94. Billboard obviously couldn't get the rights.

It was a VERY bad year.....

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 24, 2000

Has anyone heard any good songs from any of these artists lately. I sell music for a living and I can tell you NO. Billboard does a great job of showing no bias when compiling top hits for each year. Its just too bad that music consumers caused these songs to be the "TOP" hits of 1992. I just hope the 1993 selection is better. Anyway, Thanks to Billboard for being unobjective!

    THE ACE AGAIN

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 23, 2000

Yes kids it's THE ACE again, you may have read some of my previous reviews, well here's another. This cd sucks, it is the worst compilation of varied wave lengths and noise, also known as music to some, that I have ever seen. Yea we listened to some of this stuff way back then, but we listened to it cause there wasn't nothin else to listen to, bottom line, if you get this for free I'd still suggest that you raise hell to whoever's givin it to you and try to convince them that they're rippin you off, cause they are. That's all for now, see ya later folks, this is THE ACE, signing off.

and i'll say it again: The billboard didn't do this - the buyers of music in 1992 did.
yes it's funny to see the stuff we were buying back then, but that's the way it is.

Buy this album if 1) if you want to buy a really expensive frisbee or 2) you want to laugh really hard at how poor these songs are and how dumb billboard is. I can't wait to see what crap they put on the 1993 album. Thank you billboard for wasting our time.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 20, 2000

These songs were popular for what....5 sec. during the nineties who would want to remember how stupid they were for listening to them?????? And only a few songs were relatively popular the rest i've never heard of! A SAD SAD DAY FOR THE BILLBOARD LIST!!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 20, 2000

This must be a joke, what a sad compilation of music. No real person with any ear for music would listen to this. I thought we all had more faith in Billboard, maybe they should rethink their place in music.

Man, does this CD rock!!! If you really want to hear the heart of the music scene in '92 BUY THIS DISC!!! It's packed full of unbelievably talented musicians playing extremely complex pieces. (And I'm not just saying that because I get 1% of all sales, either.)

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 19, 2000

I thought that this album was a joke for a second. Where's Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and the other bands that changed music during the 90's. Mr. Big? You have to be joking. This album just proves how stupid "popular music" was in the 90's.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 19, 2000

Not to be dropping names (so I won't); but by 1992, the "pop music scene" could best be described as the "cool dude" in American Graffitti said: "There ain't been any GOOD music since Buddy Holly died."

    Oh please!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 18, 2000

Did these people forget that 92 was the breaking year of the Northwest rock explosion, or did they just leave that out to make room for this crap? When I think of '92, I don't think of Mr. Big or Right Said Fred, I think of Smells Like freakin' Teen Spirit and Ritual de lo Habitual (which technically was '91) and Badmotorfinger. Eh, who cares? Nobody with any real musical taste would pick up this lame compilation now. Maybe in a few years when it becomes retro-chic...
