    Complex works from the 80's by this dynamic composer - "Thou shalt not Thou shalt not" (1983) with passages of triple meter rhythms in strings and winds counter to quarter notes in the percussion, "The Low Quartet" (1985/86) for four bass clarinets, "Four Kings Fight Give" (1988) for chamber strings and winds which has a passage in seven tempi at once, performed by the Michael Gordon Philharmonic conducted by Linda Bouchard, and "Acid Rain" (1986) played by The Spectrum ensemble conducted by Guy Proteroe.

Michael Gordon

Composer Michael Gordon is the co-founder and co-director of New York's ~Bang on a Can new music festival. Although he was born in Florida, Gordon grew up in an Eastern European community in Nicaragua.
