Classic Camaro tries to steal the show

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 20, 2006

Pros: First Gen Camaro RS/SS, John Cusack at his best!

Cons: "Gee Ricky, I'm sorry your mom blew up"

This film features a gorgeous black 1967 Camaro RS/SS, and the scene in which Lane (Cusack) drives the car out of the garage for the first time is an inspiration set to Muddy Waters' "Mannish Boy". The remainder of the movie could have ...offered little else, and the film would have been great, but in fact the rest of the film is funny, inspirational, and entertaining to boot, making this one of the most underrated 80's films of all time. The cast is expertly assembled. The writing is funny and creative use of the typical cliche' high school coming-of-age tale is threaded with outrageousness. This is one of those films meant as pure entertainment, without redeeming social value, that manages to improve the lives of those that shared time together watching it. I think that as a film it should have become an underlying part of the American culture much in the way that Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" did. But it has not as of yet for reasons that cannot be explained reached that level of pervasiveness. If you have not seen B.O.D. you owe it to yourself and your friends to call for a movie night and gather them around you, and your TV. Read more Less
