    One of the best around.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 10, 2000

In my opinion, P.M.Dawn is one of the most underrated and overlooked groups around. The Cordes brothers are the best songwriters to land on this planet in a long, long time. While I agree this album does not showcase ALL of their greatest, it does g...ive everyone a good compilation of their biggest. To hear more of their best pay attention to their singles and get the songs that they don't put on their albums (the b-sides). By far the best is "She Dreams Infinite Maybe's". If anyone out there reading this has it on c.d. single, e-mail me at Limomant1998@yahoo.com.PL
EASE!!! My exwife ran my tape over with a vacume and now I can't find it anywhere.

    Incomplete, but a good overview

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 26, 2000

P.M. Dawn is certainly one of the most overlooked and much maligned groups of the past decade. Accused in hip-hop circles of "faking the funk", and refusing to be strapped down to some of the limitations of that gendre, they took a mixture of hip-ho...p, trip-hop, trance techno, classic R&B and esoteric exploration and created a truly unique style. If they fake the funk, explain why they're still in demand for remixes today? Prince Be still has one of the smoothest vocal deliveries in R&B today. This collection is a good overview and a decent introduction to P.M. Dawn's esoteric soul, but not nearly a complete collection. The best use here would have been to create a double set, one disc highlighting the singles and prime album cuts (many of those are missing), and the second disc dedicated to the many remixes they've created, both of their work and of other artists (White Zombie??? Yep).Dispite it's incomplete status, this disc is a collection of songs in a style that you won't find anywhere else. For the uninitiated, this is the best place to start...then check out the rest of the story. Read more Less

    the other side of hip-hop

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 21, 2000

this album showcases some of PM Dawns best work (unfortunately not all of it), but for all you hardcore hip-hop fans then this isn't the band for you. But if you like your hip-hop with a touch of spirituality, inspiration, and a blend of musical sty...les then open up your ears. If you liked Tribe, De La Soul, and Arrested Development then check it out. You're bound to appreciate what they're doing. You may even want to check out some of the back catalogue. Read more Less

Make no mistake, this is a wack crew.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 21, 2000

Are these cats singers or emcees? Hip-hoppers or hippies? Drag queens or just misunderstood? B-boys or B-girls? I'd have to say singing hippies in drag, with a B-Girl twist.

I did'nt even know they had one in stores. I liked them since their debut. Just extremely underground. I WOULD buy this though!

    Underated Band

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 20, 2000

P.M. Dawn is a very underrated band and probably always will be. They have always had the courage to sound different and make unique music as opposed to most hip-hop groups which simply cater to the mainstream trends at the time. They can look back ...at this record and know that no one else made music quite like this. Read more Less

    PM Dawn Is Great!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 16, 2000

PM Dawn have produced some of the most creative music in the past decade. Their albums realize a much greater existence and durability than most of the junk you hear on the radio these days. Each listen provides another aural layer and lesson. Plus,... who would put the sounds of Martin Luther Kings grave site on an album with such meaning to a generation. Read more Less
