    My sister had gotten this album for Christmas when I first started listening to this album. She used to listen to "I'm Sorry" all the time when she had it. She later gave it to me saying she didn't like it anymore. So I took it. I had just started li...stening to John's music the spring before. My dad had "The Very Best of John Denver", when I found it in his truck and put it in the tape player. I guess it was "Country Roads" that got me listening to the album. In third grade my class used to sing "Country Roads".But these recordings for these songs are fantastic! I must have listened to it enough to learn "Annie's Song" without lyrics. (I have a hearing loss, so accomplishing something like that is pretty big for me.) And the song "For You" is a unique recording, considering that this recording is a one-of-a-kind. Check this album out from a rental place first like a library and see if you like it. If you do, I recommend buying this CD ASAP. Read more Less

    Madacy's The Best of John Denver is an imperfect collection, but it does contain 14 of his very best songs including "Rocky Mountain High," "Annie's Song," "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Leaving on a Jet Plane, " "Sunshine on My Shoulders," "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" which makes it worth its bargain price.
