The Countdown Singers' threedisc Best of Disco set includes many of the disco era's biggest hits, including "Disco Inferno," "Hot Stuff" and "Love Rollercoaster," as rerecorded by the soundalike vocal group. Most of their renditions are fair to decent, with only a few clunkers (like the horrendous covers of "I Love the Night Life" and "Super Freak"). Nevertheless, almost anyone with even a casual interest in disco would be better served by a collection of original recordings and since there are so many good, authentic disco compilations available, it's difficult to recommend Best of Disco.
