A Nice Movie About Northern-European Mythology...

By Kate Conan  Jan 27, 2008 | 0 out of 1 found this Beowulf (2007) review helpful

Pros: Repenting is never too late...

    Cons: Worth Seeing...

There's been a very little number of movies about Northern-European mythology produced, and "Beowulf" is really a wonderful masterpiece about this subject... And the most special thing in the movie is that it was completely designed on ...three-dimensional graphic technique. I was really impressed by the image of the mother-monster when it was in human form, not only because the human form was based on the real Angelina Jolie, an extremely well-known and beautiful actress, but also because the producers made it so real and so seductive... And Beowulf was a real hero although he made some mistakes that weren't able to be forgiven; he tried his best to correct them, to save his beloved ones, to die in glory; he killed his monstrous-son but when he saw his son lying dead beside him, he smiled and gripped the hand of his son; the son is his shame, his lie, his fear, and just before shutting his eyes forever, he said "too late for lies"; I admired the warrior, because he dared to face up his shame and fear and fought against them in order to correct his mistakes... Only one thing that I wonder is whether Wiglaf, his closest friend, was seduced by the mother-monster and made the mistakes that Beowulf had made in living life... In general, this is a nice movie worth seeing... Read more Less
