Synopsis: Bent (1997)

An interesting cast fills out this solemn production based on the play by Martin Sherman (who also wrote the screenplay). During WWII, a Berlin homosexual is caught up in the Nazi hysteria.     An exploration of non-physical homosexual love in a detention center. The use of modern sets for a 1930's Berlin was a little distracting but the acting and issues addressed by the script make it a very interesting journey into the mind and life of ...a persecuted man. Read more Less

    Pros: All of it

    Cons: Could have shown more of what goes on in concentration camps.

    Well, was more than what I expected. Mick Jagger plays a great Drag Queen/Gay man. Clive Owen did an overall exceptional job. Amazingly how he adapts to any character that he plays. And so believable. Who would have thought that all of this took plac...e during that period of time. And to think they were persecuted even then. This is a must have for any Clive Owen fan. I cannot put into words how this movie affected me while watching it. There are no words to really describe this movie other than it takes your breath away. Read more Less
