    BEST DMB ALBUM...EVER

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 12, 2006

    Pros: Freakin' Amazing

    Cons: Only 11 tracks

I think that BTCS is easily their best work. It really shows Dave's songwriting capabilities and shows off their tremendous musical talents in the jam sessions. I love how each song sets its own mood; Halloween is almost downright frightening, while Stay has a light-hearted, upbeat feel to it. If you are as into DMB as I am, I know you will agree when I say that this is their best album. Buy this.. if you don't you will regret it and hate yourself for the rest of your life.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 9, 2006

    Pros: .

    Cons: .

who was the jerkoff who said dmb has no talent? being a professional musician i can honestly say dave has mastered rhythem guitar. not to mention you couldnt even pat your head while you run your tummy but listen to what carter can throw down. you obviously have no idea what music is. you should probably get out of your moms basement once in a while. anyway, awesome album. my favorite by far.

    Re : #30, #35

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 20, 2002 | 1 out of 1 found this Before These Crowded Streets review helpful

I have to admit the #30 post made me chuckle. But seriously, you guys have done nothing but go around every DMB review board and talk smack just to bring the user ratings down. You guys obviously haven't listened to all of those DMB albums (probably not even one), and are jealous of the fact your favorite bands can't release a 5 star album (probably because they are not worthy of one).

Either you feel their music or you don't. I don't understand how you can HATE a band so much after listening to them... unless you're jealous of them or just plain crazy. I've never listened to a band I didn't like and hated them that much simply because their songs didn't do it for me. You guys need help.

Hey terps_325, why all the hate? You should be on cloud-9 since the terps won the national championship in bball.

    Dave sucks

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 24, 2002

I agree with what someone else said, this guy would have to be the king of pussy rock. Go get an Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, or Guns N' Roses CD for real rock. The popularity of this overrated idiot is mindboggling.

The best just got better........ or did

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 13, 2001

So hands up who thought DMB last effort 'Crash' was good???

Well both my hands are up... (still I'd probably only give it 4/5 as a rating cause it was good but not the best!!!)

Now on to 'Before..' ... well what can you say. Dave Matthews Band has captured something so special within this collection of tracks. Something really clicked here, each track has its own theme, which conjures up images and feelings.

    *** Ingrediants for mixture ***

A massive range of instruments from the usual guitars, drums, sax(s), bass, plus a banjo, a string quartet, a mandalin, etc.... thrown in with the brilliant vocals of Alanis Morrisette and led by one man (and his band) who are capable of writing 'A class' songs with thier brilliant ideas.

This IS a development from Folk, Funk, Pop Matthews....

You see the best just got better, this man is going down in History as one of the greatest modern composers of popular music.... believe me.

    give him a chance people

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 19, 2001

yes, dave matthews does have worshippers, but you cant discredit him because of that. this cd is pure gold. The integration of banjo and string quartet make the entire cd a haunting and moving effort. this cd knocked titanic out of the #1 spot, so you have to respect it for that. its not pop, its not country, its not rock, its dave matthews, and the fact that he totally stands alone and does not sound exactly like 14 other bands or any bands for that matter, warrants respect for this incredible artist.

the dave matthews worship in this country scares me. this pajama pants wearing fool has no talent and i have a feeling if he recorded himself farting on a snare drum, you people would give it 5 stars.

Musically and lyrically, a struggle with

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 13, 2001

Listening to the album, it's like Dave Matthews is torn between devils and angels. Songs like "Last Stop", "Halloween" and "Don't Drink The Water" are dark and brilliant numbers that display the dark side of Dave Matthew's song writing. But listening to the jazzy flow of the album version of "Crush" and other cuts like "Spoon" and "Stay" are very easy to take and smooth. Dave Matthews still is a very amazing talent, take it or leave it.

In a growing line of great CD's this one is far and away their best work. It is simply amazing that a group can put out this many excellent CD's. Most groups fade away long before this time.

i got this cd a few years back, when it first came out in 98'. And i knew from the start it was different from dmb's past cds. It has a more mellow, melodic feel to it, which is pretty cool. If your a dave fan and havent gotten this cd...damn! go out and buy it now!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 8, 2000

I had never listened to The Dave Matthews Band until I heard Crush on the
radio. I immediately went out and bought the album and fell head over heals for this band. Don't Drink the Water is such an awesome song about control. I now own all of their music
at the young age of 42! Keep it up, Dave! You have my gracious respect.

This is certainly a 5 star CD. There isn't a song on the cd that I don't enjoy. I have had the cd for over a year now and still love every track on it. Its a different from his other cds, but is still awesome. It can get you excited, or calm you down, so I definitely recommend buying it.
