Raving and ranting!!!
I enjoyed watching the movie Beatstreet, and I would recommend the movie to anyone that has not seen it. The movie is full of hip-hop, graffiti, and frindships. I have the movie, and sometimes when I'm in the mood for a good dancing and art I would pop that into the DVD player and watch it over and over again until I'm blue in the face. I found my self watching the movie tons of times, and yet has not become board.

The greatest representation of how I use to live back in New York. It was a real movie to some of us who were trying hard to survive.

I remember having to take a "day off" from school when this movie came out. This movie, along with Wild Style and Krush Groove put the New York City experience on film. Although the storyline isn't that great, you shouldn't have to go that deep. Just enjoy the dancing, singing, rhyming, and guest appearances of the street stars of the time. Looking at it now, you can see some of the current movie and music stars. I have been trying to obtain all three movies for years now; I finally have to chance buy "Beat Street" the movie that has captured some of the my old NYC experiences.

An excellent movie I enjoyed it myself when it first came out and now my 10 year old son is in love with it too. He has shared it with all his friends and they think it's an awesome movie considering that breakdancing is making a comeback in our city it gave them a first hand look at how it was 16 years ago.

this is the best hip hop film i have ever seen, if you own this video i can bet you have almost worn the tape out which means this film is begging for a DVD release.

This is close to the beginning to Hip Hop on the big screen. When you watch this movie you will realize what it was like to grow up in the South Bronx durning the early stages of Hip Hop as a black or latino. The Bronx Rockers(Rock Steady Crew) is one of the most reconized Break Crews in the world. Not only is this a story of Hip Hop but a love story as well and also a story of friendship. If you are a true Hip Hopper you will see some faces from the past i.e Dougie Fresh, Kool Moe Dee, Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five, Crazy Legs and the MIGHTY ZULU NATION.
