Common or Simply Unique?
Pros: mellow, smooth sounds, profound lyrics

The CD is hot, hot, hot! Mellow, jazz and R & B fusion. Common gives the listener heart and soul in this one. Particularly in "Misunderstood."

Pros: Gifted artist who knows/respects his history
Cons: More tracks would have been great.
"Be" is 1 of his 2 best albums (One Day it will all Make Sense). All the tracks are exceptional...and unlike most rappers, you can actually learn something if you listen to what he's saying. "Faithful" and "It's your world" are two of my favorites on this album. Get it if you don't have it. A classic indeed.

Common knows how to spit that fire! He doesn't degrade women like most of these pop rap artists are doing and he speaks the truth! I listen to different forms of hip-hop, but there's time you want to take a break from the radio "hip-pop" and those artists that all they do is beef one another and act like fake gangstas just to sell records. Common sold many copies of this record not just because of Kanye West, but because people can learn from this cat about real life and not the fantasy world of cars, houses, sex, and drugs! I know a lot of non-black fans that know who Common is, and that's a surprise knowing that Com is more on the underground level! They too know what true hip-hop is as much as I do! Turn off that radio and cop all of Common's albums. I did!

Pros: Common lyrically at his best combined with Kanye's production
Cons: Album was way too short
Unmistakenly one of the best of 2005, Common emerged from the shadow of the labeled "backpack" and "underground" rapper. And did it all without changing his style. This whole LP was classic with songs such as "Real People" and "California". A must have in your collection.

Cons: what hip hop is missing
This is one of Common's best work yet. From Top till finish this album is inspiring, thoughtful and entertaining at the same time. Something that even grown ups will enjoy. With beats from Kanye West and Dilla, there is no doubt that Common shines throughout the whole tracks. One of my personal favourites are "Be(Intro)", "The Corner", "Go" and "They Say". Above all this cd is a true Classic.

Historical, Emotional, Expectational..Fulfilling
...Common returns with the aid of soulful beat crafter/ emcee, Kanye West. Common & Kanye are un-macthed in glory... Kanye's tracks compliment the Common message beautifully, simply the most defined Common album thus far! An astonishing ressurection after 2002's much slept on, "Electic Circus". Showcases a more mature, sincere, humble, & content Common than on past releases. Tracks like "Be (Intro)" & "Love Is" animate Common's convictions with ease! a great album right thurrrrrrrrr its powerful man i will listen to the intro and frezze out and bob my head like crazy it jus gets to me it great the honest and only problem is the amount of tracks its all good though cause lyricllay and quality wise his made up for it my favourite tracks have got to be,intro corner testify love is, chi city real ppl and the food

Best album of the year. Every track is real. Even though theres only 11 tracks every one of them is hot and u can just let the album play all the way through without skipping. That seems hard to find in an album these days. If you love real hip hop i would definitely reccomend you pick this album up.

When i 1st heard of dis album i tot i was listening 2 Nas's Illmatic ...and if u're hip hop music lover y'all shud kno that Illmatic is a hip hop classic...and dis album is something about Illmatic...but wit more relaxing beats i guess...it sounds like a classic..besides that it reli is similiar 2 Illmatic,including number of tracks Illmatic 10tracks,Be 11 tracks...and lotz more i duno why but i juz feel like dis album is like Nas's Illmatic and i luv Nas dis album shud be categorised in d CLASSICS section and it is and will be ...nice work on da production from Kanye West...and meaningful lyrics from Common...hez a real MC...hip hop lovers ...u shud hva dis placed besides classics like Nas's Illmatic Jay-z's Blueprint Notorious B.I.G's Ready to Die and Life After Death..Dr Dre's The Chronic...and Kanye asked about "Will his name get brought up if talk about classics?" i guess the answer is yes for his production for this album
