This is one of the most underrated albums from the 1990s. It became the fastest selling album of all time in the UK, and went #2 in the US. Hits like Don't Go Away, D'you Know What I Mean?, Stand By Me, All Around the World... With the exception of Getting Better Man, which just lasts too long, this is one of the few albums from all time that are more killer than filler. People slagged off Be Here Now becose they thought it was too long and becoss also it was to long, but Oasis were making new steps and being ambishus and Oasis are the best band in the world and not just bettar then the Beatles but much bettar than the Beatles incept in a few cases and inside the album cover theres a picture of a sign or paper I can't remember what but it says THE BEATLES QUITE GOOD OASIS MUCH BETTAR which I think is a sign that Oasis are bettar than the Beatles becoss of all the records and Beatles never played to all them people at Nebbworth all singing "Champayne supernova in the skies" all at once, as well as The Masterplan, which some might say was one of the most emotonal moments in rockandroll ever more than the Beatles anyway Be Here Now has some of the best lyrics and playing of all time when that first single Do You Know What I Mean? came out I knew the rest of the album would be the best ever I cant stop singing it I'll show you what I mean

Be Here Now has been through the media grinder, and criticized over and over again, but never has it failed to impress me. "All Around the World" relives some "Penny Lane" and takes out a retro-days perspective. "Don't Go Away" is right down the alley, and 10 out of 10. A rather hash "D'You Know What I Mean" wakes me up in the morning, and sometimes leaves me disappointed at Liam's vocals, but very impressive again. Be Here Now is exactly what 1997 should've been for Oasis. However, they were ripping Beatles lyrics again with "long and winding road.." and what else, it's getting better but old.

This album was slated by the critics - why? Because as the British media does, once they've built someone up they can't wait to knock 'em down.
For a supposed weak album, it sure as hell produced 3 UK no.1 singles - more than any other Oasis albums.
I have always said that this album musically is brilliant but it's the lack of 'comercial/mainstream' friendly songs that make it an easy target for unimaginative critics.
If you've heard this album and don't like it - give it a few listens and it'll grow on you.
Don't believe what the critics say - judge for yourself!

this is not a bad oasis album... they were going good with this album as their third, but they totally aren't themselves on SOTSOG - (their fourth), which isn't oasis. "Be Here Now" is OASIS - its melodic, energetic, and full of attitude...just rockn'roll... "Magic Pie" is the BEST SONG on the record - the guitar parts are totally amazing and uplifting - one of their best songs ever in my opinion... "Stand By Me", "Don't Go Away", "All Around the World", etc. are great oasis songs...this is a good oasis album...

This albumn has been slated by most, but i think its great and Oasis's best albumn.

There is a legendry 6 track run of songs from number 5 to 10. Don't go away is tops. Only bad song on the albumn is the Noel Gallager sung track magic pie.
Overal albumn rating: 78/100. (Best albumn released since magical mystery tour by the beatles in 1967.)

There are some good tracks. They are dyou no what i mean, stand by me, don't go away and all around the world but magic pie and fade in out are awful. I hope I think I know sounds like b side stay young. Only buy this album if it is going cheap. Buy the other five albums first, they're much better.

OASIS WRITE CRAP SONGS AND THEY CAN ONLY PLAY LOUDLY TO DISGUISE THE BOLLOCKS MUSICIANSHIP! THEIR MUSIC IS BORING AND LIAM IS A TWAT WITH AN ANNOYING VOICE. THEY'RE UNCHARISMATIC AND DON'T MOVE ON STAGE. THIS CD IS THEIR WORST AS IT IS TOO LONG AND OVERPRODUCED, OASIS SONGS ARE BAD ENOUGH WITHOUT HAVING TO BE DRAGGED OUT UP TO 6-7 MINUTES. I can't believe I haven't written about this album yet. It's one of my all time favorites. I bought it the day it came out, and instantly fell in love with it. 1997 was an awful year, the Spice Girls and Hanson were all that with their horrid pop music, and I thought it was so damn cool that Oasis released an album that had 7 minute epics such as Magic Pie on it. Oasis are a truly great band, despite what some people may say. This and the Masterplan are my favs, but all of their albums are just incredible.

This album is Oasis's worst. It didn't help being over hyped. Theres nothing wrong with the songs as such, its just that the production is overblown to the point of ridiculousness, and they are way too long. However, it deserves a purchase for the heartbreaking Dont Go Away and the cool Magic Pie alone.
