Faux Star Wars
Pros: Star Wars Fans might hate it
Cons: Cheesy effects compare to today's version
This is the original pilot movie intended to profit from the then recently released "Star Wars" movie. Unfortunately this led to the TV series which was nothing more than a cheap knock off of the "Star Wars" movie.
Compared to the version on the air today, this plays as nothing more than it was...a cheap copy of Star Wars for those who saw the original Star Wars in theaters. It only lasted a couple of years until 1980 when an attempt to boost ratings was made by introducing Robbie Rist (who hastened the destruction of the Brady Bunch), with the same result. Storyline of this movie has it all. emotions, anger, confusion and most of all action beside Star - Trek. Can't say anything see it to believe

After all this time this one suprisingly holds up well. The unique take on Earth myth and better then average acting from some of the cast keep you with the characters. Also you can see a young Rick Springfield here in a brief role. Likeable characters and great for the time special effects make this a keeper.

With Lorne Greene in charge of the Galactica how could you go wrong. Good clean fun for the kids. A little cheesy compared with today's special effects, but really not that bad considering the release date. It actually held my interest the entire 2 hrs.
