Pros: Each song gives a different feeling.
Cons: No song is a "single" material (other than Celine's ya know...)
If you had the Bat out of Hell albums before, you must have this to know if Meatloaf is okay or the demons/angels finally took him. Ya need to know.
Though Bat out of Hell past albums were Steinman's songs, most of his songs in this album are not new but previously unreleased. (most, not all, K?)
Desmond Child and Dianne Warren, even Nikki Sixx took over composing the songs in this album.
But the "theme" is the same, and everything is updated to 2006 style.
It features guys like Brian May and Steve Vai.
1 hour and 17 minutes.
Pros: Great lyrics, new elements, futuristic and exactly the way Bat future should be, Steinman APPROVED!!!
Cons: Radio aren't pushing the singles hard enough!!!
First off, the reason why this album has a bit of a bad rep is cuz people are not quite as smart as they think they are. They we're expecting an album that sounds like Bat 2, with all Steinman compositions but the thing is ... Bat 2 is nothing like Bat 1 so why make 3 sound like 2?? Bat out of Hell III is the Meat Loaf finale, He has taken main collabarators in his career and let them add their touch to Bat. Its more like "Meat Loaf & Friends: Bat Out of Hell III" It's like nothing Meat has ever done and it's amazing. All the songs have that renegade sound, but with a in-the-times style, the albums must change a little to suit there times. Don't forget, this album was personally approved by Steinman himself to be the next Bat III
An overall Great ending to the Bat Trilogy .... RIP
Pros: Same old loaf
Cons: Same old loaf
I have been a big fan of Meatloaf ever since I was a kid and used to sneak into my uncles room and listen to his cassette tapes.
That's when I first heard the original Bat Out Of Hell.
I was hooked, and have been a fan of everything he released for years after.
I was really excited when I picked up the newest cd.
It's been years since Meatloaf released anything, and this was not just anything, but it was a new Bat Out Of Hell!!
My thoughts upon my first listen was "why does this sound like 80's European heavy metal?"
Then I listened a few more times, and it has really grown on me.
True, many of the tracks are dated sounding, but then again, Meatloaf has never really been a trend setter.
My favorite track is a pretty ballad called Die Over Me.
The song is classic Meatloaf, and unlike the rest of the cd, took no time to grow on me.
Another interesting track is "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" (yes the Celine Dion song)
In all, If you are a fan, you will enjoy this, if not, I duobt this cd would make you a fan.
