Spanish tech-house Bassdrum Project was created in 1999 by DJ Joe (born José A. Herraiz) and DJ Beatblue (born Carlos Conejo). The group made their debut with a maxi-single called Phase One, which was released by independent Contraseña Records in July 2000. Dark Track followed in June 2001.
