
California-based Banda Los Lagos moved to the U.S. in the early 1990s. After signing up to independent label Luna, the group debuted with their album Virgencita de Guadalupe, released in 1992, a year later, touring Mexico for the first time. Later, climbing Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks with "Te Quiero, Te Amo, Te Extrano." Reina de Reinas became Banda Los Lagos breakthrough in the Mexican traditional music scene throughout Latin America, including the U.S. market.
