    this is a great mix of jazz singing with soul and hip hop backing. very smooth and sultry with terrific vocal arrangement to give it a steady beat but with very intricate jazz feeling. it has a soul/hip-hop mix backing it, but subdued and as smooth ...as the vocals, so it really comes out being a great example of contemporary jazz. anyone who likes jazz vocalists and likes more modern applications of that style will love this cd.     I had never listened to Badu before this album and I'm still extremely impressed with the lyrics & voice, and simply blown away by her musical and rhythmical force. She is like no other, so smooth... I'm hooked on the songs 'certainly' and 'see you n...ext lifetime'. Wow. I love you Erykah Badu. Read more Less

    erykah is off da' chain, she's my girl, 100% black and proud and keeps on doin' her thing. i just wanna say to her to keep the faith and 'don't let the problems get you down' ( boutny killer). this is just a little somethin' somethin' from a jamaica...n home girl who is also 100% black and yahdi!ps: just keep on doin' ure thing girl!
