Great Laughs at a Sad Story
Pros: Funny, Funny, Funny
Cons: Very dark humor
Okay, let me preface this review by saying I have a different sense of humour and am not easily offended. This movie had me rolling in stitches for most of the film despite it having a seriously dark side that deals with the truths of alcoholism. Regardless, if you aren't a prude, watch the flick. Just don't treat it to others who are either prudes or have children!

Pros: Has its moments
Cons: Too f___ing much cussing
I like the Coen brothers' films and their quirky comedy style, but this wasn't one of their better movies. Thornton's character is a loathsome bottom feeder...I get it...I don't have to be hammered over the head the entire movie by over-the-top over-reacting for 90+ minutes to remind me. And the cussing! I am definitely not a prude, as I have a colorful vocabulary and delve often into my library of cuss words throughout the day. But, I haven't heard the "f bomb" dropped this many times since "Born on the Fourth of July". I would rent this movie, but there's not enough of an upside to warrant $20.

Pros: Side-splitting hysterical at times
Cons: Feeling unclean about 2/3 through the movie
My wife and I watched the unrated "Bad-der Santa" and found ourselves asking why we sat through it. There are scenes that are so evil that most moral people will be sickened by the whole thing. Just when you get to the point that you are ready to turn it off, something will happen that is so ridiculously funny that you can't help but keep going.
On a side note, this movie could make a great drinking game at a party. Take a drink every time Santa shows up drunk. Take two drinks every time he insults Thurman. Chug it if he actually does something smart.Was this review helpful? Yes - Nowell worth a watch....
Pros: very funny
Cons: a lot of cursing/sexual situations, not for kids!!!
first off, i'm a fan of bill bob and fortunately he didn't let me down in this flick either. he was great in U turn but creates just as memorable character in this flick. a lot of the mannerisms he uses/portrays are stereotypical of what we think about most people that participate in the annual santa shtick. still, he pulls it off and makes it bearable if not enjoyable to watch. while the kid wasn't great, you do feel for him. you can tell it's his first real role but you tend to look over it. you will actually notice less of what he can't do and pay attention more to what he can. B. mack should have and could have been used more, IMO, oh well. while it's not his (b.mack) funnest role he does well with what he has. all in all, if you don't mind the language and sexual situations, this is a very, very funny movie which is able to tug at your heart strings while making you laugh at the same time.
