"Pleasant" is what comes to mind when spinning Bad Day For Trains from Vancouver's Patricia Conroy. A strong, if not stand-out voice, well-delivered songs that (like Pam Tillis) touch on many of country music's cliches (ie: stand by and/or do not stand by your man), and competently commercial instrumental backing. Most memorable are the muscular title track and the coy, sultry ballad "Cat and Mouse."
