This album is a small not better than the first one, but they are both GREAT. They are still loud, sully still has a great voice, and everything blends perfect. The lyrics are great like on the first album, and this is a best buy. Another ^&%^ Great album from them.

Godsmack is the best rock band ever! They are the Sh*t. I AM GOD!!!!! So listen to me. Godsmack is the best. Buy this cd if you dont already have it! You wont be let down.

This album is a very good one, and I was very impressed with it. This band reminds me of Metallica a little, but mainly the vocals. Sully is one hell of a vocalist. Rock on.

Sorry I only dig up Hair-Metal(also known as Glam Metal), Progressive Metal, Power Metal, Guitar Virtuoso, Neo-Classical Metal, Scandinavian Metal, Doom Metal, Speed Metal(also known as thrash metal), Black Metal, Death Metal, Grindcore, Hard Rock(just real hard rock like Led Zeppelin), and Christian Metal! Even Sam Kinison and Weird Al Yankovic wouldn't like this. I couldn't dig up nu-metal. This sounds more like pop so it sucks and I have to agree with I_am_a_moron2002 and bestgnrfan.

Dr. ass2001, you must be really retarded if you're 59. You have slammed every rock band I have known. Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Guns 'N' Roses, Metallica, and so on. If you don't listen to rock music, then what music in the hell do you listen to? Quit confining your taste of music and tell us what music you listen to, you retard!

I was simply not impressed of how the way "Awake" turned out to be. The reason ive brought this cd is because i really like Metallica, and when i heard "Awake" on the radio, i thought that Godsmack done a pretty ok
job mimicing the worlds greatest metal band. I was very dissapointed of how people overrated this album to be really heavy, and my answer to that is "Hell No", this album is not as hard
hitting as i thought it would be, and also the lack of creativity, wich lead to another minus.
Godsmack "Awake" reminds me of "Human Clay" from Creed, a lot the riffs are similar, Creed and Godsmack have gotten accused for ripping off Alice In Chains and Metallica, both of them
sound alike musically, except that Godsmack has
more aggressive vocals then Creed, and Creed's human clay is ten times better then this

This album ... WAUW! I don't know what else to say. It has the most heavy and raw sound, I've heard in a long time. And I can totally agree with others saying, that here is the fine sound of early Metallica. Rock on!

this is an ok album, good for headbanging, but they're not the new metallica(at least early metallica, the new one sucks), it's a good band, but not the best out there. Buy it if you're into new bands, but old schoolers may not like it.
