The cd is awsome. I love HIs musc so much. He always does a good job.I would like to see him in concert he's so good.

Pros: passionate, svelt vocals, wide variety of different songs,great production

Cons: for me, I have to be in the mood to listen to something like this

I'm not an expert on this type of music by any means, but Josh Groban has a wonderful vocal gift.

His voice is so clear and strong, and when he sings it really captures the emotions. This new album "Awake" is a wonderful treat to listen to.

There is a wide variety of music, from pop to classical to an African song to a lullaby, and each song is sung true and strong.

I'm on my second listen to the record now, and am even more impressed!

I have only heard a few songs so far but MAAAAN!!

Pros: increasinly varied styles show of josh's rare versatility. great vocal range, original and varied orchestrations.

Cons: josh's voice, as a result of becomeing more trained, has lost a touch of that smothness that one heard on his first album and his vibrato is rapidfire fast on his high notes, and far fewer foreign laguages

i have only heard a few songs so far, and only samples of others i could't wait to write a review, i am enthralled and impressed. josh's voice is as emotive and skilled as ever, and every song i have heard so far is completely different. one cannot classify this album under any genre because every song is of a different genre. from worl (specifically african) music (weeping), his sugnature classical faire (solo por ti), film music ('Un Giorno Per Noi', from romeo and julliette), pop (you are loved), new age rock and roll (machine).....it is his most versatile and ambitious album yet......................

y he sounds a bit less classical and a bit less baritone. he can still hit all the rumbling lows of before but his general tone seems higher. josh's highest notes are slightly strained but to be fair he couldn't hit those notes at all just a few years ago which means his the lesson a week vocal training, even on tour is paying off.he has lost some that molten chocoalte smootheness that made you wanna cry no matter what da heck he was singing he had on his first album and his voice has taken on a slight edge one that hints at great power beneath the voice that he is waiting to be unleashed.whether he sounds better now or then is a matter of taste. (i know my mother is nuts about the new sound)



in general, this album will create a good many new grobanites. while the classical buffs who were drawn in by his first album might be a little put off by joshes dallience into new music, there is still something on the album for them and for others josh will open you up to worlds of music you never thought you'd like.
