In 1977, a group of friends from Madrid's Santamarca Institute decided to form a punk rock band called Alex y los Drugos, later turning into techno pop in a new project known as Holoplástico, which changed its name to Aviador Dro soon after. In 1980, La Chica de Plexiglás and La Visión became the group's first records, followed by Programa en Espiral and Alas Sobre el Mundo.
