Besides that this album RULES, if you buy this album you are telling the recording industry to support emerging real rock bands and stop churning out Staind/Creed/LinkinBizkit clones. Sounds good to me.

This album is just awesome, that's all I can say. Every song is listenable and sounds great. If you are a die-hard Rage fan, you might be disappointed because this album is more melodic and not very Rage-like. If you are a die-hard Soundgarden fa...n, then you will appreciate the way that Chris Cornell's vocals blend with the music. However, I don't think anyone should compare Audioslave to Rage or Soundgarden, they are a different band altogether. If they intended on continuing as Rage Against the Machine, then they would have kept that name. Read more Less

This CD is one of the best i have ever heard. I was a huge Rage fan before this came out, and i still love listening to their music. So at first it was hard for me to accept that Audioslave is NOT a continuation of RATM. But once i did, i not only... fell in love with the Rage guys all over again, (now we know that Tom Morello is not only able to use his guitar as a turntable, but he can also play beautiful blusey mealodies!!!)but i discovered Chris Cornell. His vocals on this CD are indescribable!!! I find myself hypnotized and amazed at the way his voice goes from a deep rich hum to a huge open scream in a matter of seconds. This is pure rock and roll at its best, and it is my favorite CD! I listen to it every day all the way through and I'm left craving more!! Sorry for this non-desciptive review, but i find it hard to put into words how awesome this music is!!! If you haven't already, go buy this CD and give it a good listen-- this is an experience!!!! Anyone who says the rage guitar sound is a con is a retard. When tom was with rage he had amazing guitar parts and its a pro that it has that kind of sound Everything is good but it sounds a little like the other albums but since the other albums are... good it doesnt matter that much at all. ONE OF THE BEST EVER

This is one of my all-time favorite rock albums. Do not make the mistake of comparing this band with Soundgarden or Rage Against the Machine because Audioslave is neither. Pros: What a unique mix! I never thought that would be any good!

Cons: I'm just not comfortable sacrificing this much masculinity.

Okay, now in a world where great musicians are hard to find, why did we take some great ones and slap them with some mediocre ones, and think they would be some kind of phenomenon? We should have just let the great ones hang out with the great ones a...nd put up some kind of barrier between them and mediocrity. That would have prevented Audioslave from ever happening. I can't say that would have been so bad, really, but I was sure intrigued to listen to this album just to see how their combination of sound would happen next. I like the drums, bass, and guitars... the big problem I've got is, I'm just not enough of a woman to appreciate Chris Cornell. His voice is unimpressive to me, and quite frankly, I think this band could have done without him. They've got redeeming moments, but you can hear them all on the radio, anyway. If you REALLY like those songs you've heard on said radio, go buy this and leave the rest of us who actually want to hear some real rock alone. I give Audioslave plenty of props for putting together a neat combination of talents in one place. I guess my nuts just hang too low to really like this stuff. Read more Less

Recent Audioslave CD

Pros: very strong lyracally, and musically it' cutting edge

Cons: music isn't very mainstream

This CD is very good from beginning to end. There are a couple of tracks that they could have gotten rid of, but this album is definately worth your time and money.

Great album

Pros: great music, great voice

Cons: too much material

Of course if you're looking to some rage tunes here you're gonna be disapointed; audioslave is completely different band. Cornell and ratm really fit together if you take the time to really listen to the record. Still everything in the record... doesn't really work but there's great songs and i'm waiting to see what there going to do next Read more Less

I MISS RATM. :(
But the sound and vocals of audioslave are good.
