Pro Reviews: Attica Blues

  • All Music Guide

Attica Blues' debut album is a downbeat excursion through jazzy trip-hop with the embellishment of dark strings and several rather sly basslines to move things along. Although the production is impeccable, Roba El-Essawy's vocals tend toward a narrow range. All in all, the album is a qualified success.
