Singer/Songwriter Asa (born Bukola Elemide in Paris, 1982) came up in 2007 with a smooth blend of soulful folkish influences, both warm and rooted in her Nigerian background. Her first album, [Asha], featured a bunch of highlights, ranking from catchy, groovy tunes to softly penned and warmly interpreted ballads. Both heartfelt and radiofriendly, her first offering gained her fast recognition, mainly in France, where she began touring at the end of 2007 and where her LP was well recieved, reaching very honorable record sales.
