    It's hard to know where to start here. In 1973, Blue Ash released the power pop classic LP "No More, No Less" to critical acclaim and no sales. In 1977, they released an LP called "Front Page News" again to no avail and were ...promptly assigned to oblivion and were never heard from again. Until now that is. Apparently, Blue Ash had recorded some 200 plus songs over the 1970's in various forms. So here we have quality studio recordings,"live&quo
    t; recordings and demos."Around Again" is a 2CD set that opens with a very mid-60's sounding, different version of their signature song "Abracadabra (Have You Seen Her?), then a Kinks-riff style piece called "Day And Night" into a Left Banke-Moody Blues type ballad named "Silver Horses. That's just for starters. Disc 1 ends with "Pleasant Dreams" that opens with an Indian raga, acoustic, feedback, droning intro which builds over 5 minutes into a Who-ish, howling climax. Disc 2 has the influence of "Blonde On Blonde" with "I'm A Bad Actor" and the Byrds and the Beatles have left their fingerprints and DNA all over the remainder of Disc 2, ending with the last song Blue Ash ever recorded, the ironically triumphant "She Isn't There". All of the songs were recorded between 1972 and 1979 when Blue Ash broke up. If you are a fan of power pop bands like the Who, Badfinger, Big Star or Nazz then this will be an essential purchase for you.     Read more Less
