Armed Dangerous for Xbox is an original squadbased shooter inspired by the legend of Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men. Set in the distant future, the game stars a confident gang leader named Roman who decides to overthrow an oppressive king with the help of his threeman crew, dubbed the Lionhearts. Players will guide Roman and his team across 21 missions taking place in five regions of Planet Milola. Roman and company will be hounded throughout by a motley assortment of humanoid beasts, fanatical monks, relentless droids, and other freaks of nature.

Each member of the Lionhearts specializes in certain tasks, including demolitions, magic, and muscle. Players will journey across three continents on their way to defeat evil King Forge, each of which offers such varied terrain as mountains, tundra, forests, and cliffs. To help guarantee safe passage, players can use the Cyclops Sniper Rifle to defeat multiple foes in one shot, the Vindaloo Rocket Launcher to fire four simultaneous missiles, and two types of bombs: Sticky Bombs, which can be attached to any surface (including enemies), and TopsyTurvy Bombs, which literally turn the world upside down for a short time to shake up enemies. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

    Armed and Dangerous on Xbox

Pros: hilarious story, an original assortment of weapons

Cons: graphics are a bit rough

Here is a game that is truly original in concept. Filled to the brim in British humor and firepower, I'm pretty sure there will never be a game like it. You take control of a character named Roman the leader of a rebel group named the Lionhearts,... which consist of a giant mole with anger management issues, a tea drinking robot/walking teapot (with a very, um, inaproppriate spot for a spout), and an insane, blind old man, with strange powers, ooohh creepy (okay, it's The Force). As Roman you lead the Lionhearts through lands populated with enemy soldiers in order to liberate a kingdom from the grip of an evil king and his dim-witted son. Along the way, you save sheep from being blown up, rescue peasants and drag them home, accidently kidnap the prince, then later circumcise him (don't ask), visit a leper colony, and there is much, much, more. And a truly inventive bunch of weapons, like the Land Shark Gun, which shoots actual sharks at the bad guys. The graphics are ok, the background looks great but the characters are a little rough. The voices do a great job with a script that seems like it was written by Monty Python after a night of binge drinking. The controls are smooth and intuitive. You should buy this game, now! Armed and Dangerous (Xbox)

Armed and Dangerous is a good game, but toward the end of it, you'll likely be far more interested in seeing how the story ends--and the jokes it tells along the way--than in its gameplay. Read more

    Armed and Dangerous

As likeable as the good points of Armed and Dangerous are, and as fond of Planet Moon's style as we might be, the developer's second entry simply doesn't live up to its potential. Read more
