The best deal i can see available out of all the digital cameras. I have been waiting for digital cameras to become cheaper so that I can afford to buy 1 since 2000. Now in August 2003, this is the only 1 I see that i can afford and has all the features I need. The other ones are just too much.
Bought 3 for my boys. They loved it. Not for someone who is looking for a top of the line camera for 10.00. My five year old operates it without a problem. Downloading and all. Great for kids I repeat for kids. Great value too so if it gets broken not alot lost!
Ive seen this camera in claw machines, and the 50 cents you have pay for that is too much. A horrible digital camera, with just the bare necessities, and bad resolution.
photos come out poorly and can not find driver to play back vidios after saving!
please can someone help me install my cam?
I really dont mind this little camera. It said on the package that it was only for outdoor or bright lighting indoor (indoors, it just looks like a webcam. Ive taken some really good pictures of my family (all outdoors of course)which all printed out quite nice. I think the program that came with this camera is really cute. I dont think anyone should expect to have super quality pictures when you buy a low cost camera. It does what its supposed to. Take digital pictures that you can email to your friends.
I bought this camera just to learn about digital photography. It does not work, period
I agree with the negative reviews. I am not very concerned about the quality of pics that I email to friends for fun, but this doesn't even meet the minimum standards of a non-fussy person. It's virtually worthless indoors, and only a hair better outside.
The camera is very easy to use. But even at a discount price, it's far better to add a some money to your purchase and step up a grade -- or two!
This is the worst piece of crap that I ever brought. I only got it to take one picture and could hardly tell who it was. This is not even a good practice camera. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF S---.
This product doesn't even qualify as a camera. It has a lot of problems. It is made of very lightweight plastic and feels like a toy. I've had platic toy cameras sturdier than this. There is no flash, and it seems to need one for every picture. It has 2 resolution settings, but the lower setting is totally worthless. The lower resolution lets you take 80 picures, the higher resolution allows 20 pictures. When you take a picture, the camera beeps once. That's it. After taking 20 pictures, I wasn't sure if the camera was even working. And the pictures are really bad. There is a lot of pixelation and almost no color. At the "best" setting, the pictures were so bad that I could barely tell what I had taken pictures of. You will never recognize who the people are in the pictures. There is no option to add memory to the camera, so you are never very far away from your computer. This is NOT a good camera for beginners. It offers none of the advantages that makes digital photagraphy so appealing. If this is your first camera, it will only make you afraid to venture into a decent camera. Do yourself a favor and buy a camera that's at least $100. This price range will get you some fairly decent equipment, and if you don't like it, the camera will still have resale value. I would be ashamed to give this camera away.
I received this camera for Christmas and was disappointed to find that it was nothing more than a web cam (which are probably around $20 now, or free if you get to an electronics store on the right rebate day) that has been housed in a point-and-shoot camera body. I'm pretty sure that the person who bought it for me was unaware of this, and I think perhaps the packaging is a little misleading. So don't make the same mistake! You get what you pay for, and the cheapest you should probably spend on an inexpensive digital camera that will take clear pictures similar to film is between $100-$150. I'm not really sure what this camera is good for other than taking perfunctory pictures for teens to send across the web. Certainly not for someone who wants to produce actual photographs.
And I disagree with an earlier review that says this is a good camera for learning about digital photography. All you really need to know about digital photography is exactly the same things you need to know about traditional photography. And those are things you can learn with a simple 35mm camera that you can buy for cheaper than this one. Plus, this camera doesn't produce clear pictures, so you really end up learning nothing because you can't learn about lighting, focus, distance, etc.
Argus DC1500 Digital Camera is a great camera for beginers. It's for the beginners, low-end of the market. It's for you to learn to about pixels, lines, connection, and digital software to control and manipulation of photos. You can buy expensive one next once you learn how digital photos work.
Package comes with camera, cables, and Arcsoft photo software. All for under $30. This is a great deal.
McDonald happy meals costs $5 now. Six happy meals you can buy this camera. It's really a great buy. I would buy one for grandpa, grandma, grandkids, uncles and nephews and everyone else in between as a learning tool in digital photos. Digital photos are the future of photography and this camera is a great camera to start.
I saw this digital camera advertised for $30, and I thought it was too good to be true. With Christmas coming up, I rushed out and bought two of these -- one for my dad and one for myself. Was I ever disappointed! First of all, there is no flash, which wouldn't be a problem is the stupid one didn't need one for 80% of the pictures...unfortunately, it does. Secondly, and here's the big problem, the picture quality is pitiful! There is a "Low Quality" setting and a "High Quality" setting, both of which are "Pretty Lousy". If you want a really cheap camera that will take a crumby picture of about 10% of the things you shoot, than by all means buy this!
