Takes a little work... not for the timid

At first I thought the Archos 6000 was a piece of junk. My view has improved somewhat. The ear phones the juke box came with were terrible - the highest volume would have been drowned out in all but the quietest environments - forget about listenin...g on an airplane. But a $19 pair of Optimus high performance ear phones from RadioShack solved that problem. The jukebox only supports MP3 - a drawback, especially for people who like to use Windows Media Player to manage their music (WMP defaults to WMA format, which the player can't play). WMP will copy in MP3 format, but only at a slow data rate (low fidelity). However an MP3 plug in (purchased for $9.95) solved that problem. Now I can copy direct to the JukeBox from WMP at the highest MP3 data rate (and the sound is great). At first the Archos seemed difficult to use - made worse by documentation written by an illiterate Egyptian. But a few days of playing around with it and now I've got it figured out.
