When I moved from my 2nd Generation iPod to iPod Photo I didn't really expect this much improvement, and it never happened when apple introduced iPod Video, I never feel like needing to upgrade to iPod Video. Beside all it's musical features and the click wheel and easy access, This is a 60GB portabel, fast and reliable hard drive that works perfectly with Mac and Windows, I absolutely store many of my daily works on it, I transfer and when I connect it into my Music Station it's recognizable and accessible.
One of those pain about 2nd (and 1st) generation iPod was the battery life, I couldn't connect the iPod to my computer and keep working on it forever, when I moved to iPod photo two years ago it was avesome with USB charging, I could connect it to my laptop or dektop computer and use it permanently as an external storage. It has very resistable HDD standby delay less than a second, if you stop working with it and you come back the hard disk has to start again and it cause near 1 second of delay that is totally OK while it keeps the disk safe, and you can just leave it connected to your computer.
and Tons of accessories that just connect to the top controller of iPod Photo, this connector is just removed in iPod Video!Was this review helpful? Yes - NoWorth every penny

i bought ipod 60 gb in america on holiday from ireland . Got it home and been playing it ever since got speakers put a 150 albums on it and never had to open another cd case . Well done APPLE it is great entertainment . just bought your ibook g4 lap top it has not let me down . It is the best in laptops . cheers.

I love my iPod. It is so easy to operate. You can categorize your music. The sound is excellent with the supplied ear buds. For home use, you must get the Bose speaker system. The sound is awesome. For portable speakers I have the i-Fusion. It has a slot to store the iPod when in transport. Great sound on it as well. I have a cassette adapter for playing thru car speakers and they sound as good as your car speakers are. I haven't used the photos portion of it except for the album covers because I bought it strictly for music.
