    Awesome little gadget

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 12, 2005 | 7 out of 10 found this Apple iPod Photo 60GB review helpful

    Pros: The music never ends

    Cons: none

It is a great player, I take it everywhere I go. I even bought the Bose sound system for it. I love it. I'm not worried about card slots or photos, heck, I bought it for music. It is very easy to operate. I have over 400 CD's now stored away.... That's over 5000 songs. Sometimes we don't buy CD's for all the songs, maybe one or two. So, of all those songs I have 2500 on my ipod. Instead of going to the store to buy music now, I just purchase it from itunes. And believe me, there are still plenty more songs that I like and don't have. It is so easy. It is pricey, but I wanted it so I got it. And I'm glad I did. Read more Less

iPod Photo doesn't quite live up to the hype

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 22, 2004 | 11 out of 19 found this Apple iPod Photo 60GB review helpful

Pros: Crisp screen, decent battery life

Cons: Bigger and heavier than other iPods. Cannot play movies. Unreasonably pricey.

I am going to disagree with everyone else that has rated the iPod Photo. I am the owner of a Gen 3 iPod and I must say that I was somewhat let down by the new line of iPods (The iPod mini-style wheel is a step back in terms of usability). Sure, the c...risp color screen and the improved battery life were a neat addition, but the lack of video playback (Which similar products such as the Archos have had for years) and a lack of a way to download pictures from a CF/SD card out of the box really makes the color screen a gimmick.Don't get me wrong, the iPod Photo is a really cool product. But, it carries a hefty price tag, and the tag isn't all that's heavy about it; The unit's weight is considerably greater than say, a Gen4 20GB unit. Side by side, it is also thicker than the Gen4 40GB units.Overall, this product is well built, has a decent featureset which Apple should probably upgrade in their next firmware release, but falls short of expectations in the You-Get-What-You-Pay-For Department. Apple has learned from its mistakes in the past, and this product is just another step in the iPod roadmap. I will be looking forward to the CF-based and 80GB iPods that are due out in the first half of '05. Read more Less

    Pros: big harddrive

    Cons: very expensive

I think that the this ipod isnt even worth itYou might want to consider the price before you buy it and buy a MP3 player from creative labs or some other company that is the same quality and looks just as good, and is a touch screen for about half th...e priceYou should consider though your money and that you spending your money for a brand name that is advertized Read more Less

    Pros: Stylish, Large Capacity, Quality

    Cons: Price, never on sale

I did about a month's worth of research for a player. When it came down to crunch time, the iPod won, because its built well, largest capacity, and all the accessories available...to name a few. Nothing can be perfect(thus the 4 stars), but the i...Pod gets close . I don't know about someone giving it bad marks for no card reader. I bought it for playing music...the pictures and other features are just icing. If you can get past the price, then buy this thing. You must get the largest capacity you can afford! (By the way, I am a PC person, not an Apple person...and that may change.) Read more Less

Pros: Sound quality is excellent and have many accessories, picture quality is great

Cons: Expensive, unable to delete photos within ipod or to lock files within ipod

The music quality is great. Regret that the sync between the ipod and computer is not identical to PDA. You can only delete songs on the system and perform a sync to take effect.

    iPod 60GB

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 12, 2005 | 1 out of 1 found this Apple iPod Photo 60GB review helpful

Pros: You can put your entire music collection in one place, which is great. It makes life much more convenient than moving songs on and off the music player like I did with smaller capacity players

Cons: The way of browsing for songs/artists is cumbersome if you have thousands of songs on it. It would be helpful to have a way to look alphabetically (i.e. click on P for Pixies). Also, the price seems too expensive - $400 is a lot of money for an MP3 player!

It's worth it to have the whole music collection in one place but is not extremely search friendly nor is the price very nice. The sound quality, however, is excellent and iTunes is mostly easy to use. It's sort of handy to have photos on the...re, but I really never look at them - just interested in the music player function. Read more Less

Not for everyone, but perfect for me

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 14, 2005 | 1 out of 1 found this Apple iPod Photo 60GB review helpful

    Pros: Storage compacity, features

Cons: Lack of in-ipod photo managing

I too had done extensive research before purchasing my Ipod. Who wants to spend nearly twice as much as they need to? But when it came down to it, the 60 Gb Photo was the only real choice for me. Storage capacity was a real draw. My CD collection see...ms to be breeding on its own, and none of the other MP3 players could come close to containing it all. Who wants to be continually swapping songs back and forth from PC to player? Not I. With the Ipod, it's all there, all the time, with enough room left to accomodate for a few years more collecting. As for direct to Ipod photo transer?... just buy the cord to connect it to your camera and stop complaining people! Yeah, it's another accesory, but the capability is there. If you start adding flash and sd slots, the things going to end up being twice as big. Have to say, did have a couple of minor software glitches (easily fixable though) only a month out, but aside from that, no complaints. Battery life is less if you have Read more Less
