Pros: Was free with my Apple Powerbook G4.
Cons: Click-wheel sensitivity is bad. 4GB is not enough.
My iPod Mini came free when I bought my Powerbook G4 two years ago, because I am a university student, so I shouldn't complain.
It has served me well since my first iPod broke, but I still have a few problems with it. The click-wheel on these are not that great, and can be a problem if you want to change a song while driving (which you really shouldn't do), or if you are in a hurry for something.
Also, and I still have this problem with the newer iPods, the storage space is quite small, and I found that I had no problem filling 4GBs and still had 100's of other bands I wanted to put onto my iPod. I had been using this iPod to hold myself over while I waited for a touch screen one to come out, and now that it finally has, the storage on them is just as bad. 8GB and 16GB, for a video iPod, NOT ENOUGH STORAGE. Flash memory comes in 32 GBs now, and all though expensive, the technology should have been used for this new iPod generation.
Enough about my qualms with the iPod Touch, and back to the iPod Mini. Portability is great, this iPod fits everywhere, and I am not afraid I am going to break it in half like the Nanos.
My last statement is this; when buying any iPod, purchase a pair of headphones of good quality with it, because the packaged ones are crap.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoDear friends

The only thing I probably enjoyed about the Mini iPod are the colors that are provided. The battery life is so bad that if you listen to it more than 5 hours straight it dies on you. With the background light on, only 4 hours. After half a year or so, no matter how long you charge it, the battery will die and you'de have to send it back to Apple to get a new battery for 25-100 dollars. Overpriced if you ask me. The battery icon will display false information too. I had full battery one time and after listening to 3 songs, it turned off. I turned it back on and on the screen it displayed a message "Low battery, please charge" So I charged it and still it sent me that message. I used my sister's dock and after using that, it won't turn on at ALL and this is just the first 3 months. Please, before reading all the 'fantastic' reviews read the reviews that only rate it 3 stars or lower or you will regret getting the mini.
