Pros: simple to use even for me on a PC

    Cons: none

Works well, does what it says with little hassle or glitches. I seriously doubt any company will make a better product ever. Considering dumping my PC laptop for an apple now...should've made the switch eons ago since their products are so muc...h more straightforward...ipod is much sturdier than the other MP3 I had before Read more Less

World Domination in the Palm of Your Hand

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 28, 2003 | 12 out of 12 found this Apple iPod 20GB review helpful

Pros: Well built, smooth, sleek, and fun to use

Cons: It just doesn't get any better than this : (

I've had my 20 GB iPOD for about three months now and it was the best $400 I've ever spent. I don't download music, because I choose to financially support the artists and recording labels I like. If you do download music, there are huge ...advantages here with the iPOD. But there's nothing cooler than knowing I have all three hundred of my CDs in the palm of my hand everywhere I go. There is not a better MP3 player out there, you get what you pay for. greatest gift

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 27, 2003 | 4 out of 5 found this Apple iPod 20GB review helpful

Pros: stylish, thin, sound quality, backlight, and function

Cons: expensive, could of gotten a dell jukebox for 150$ less, scratches easily, accessories expensive.

Overall it is stylish, very reliable, i can store the 20 years worth of music we have onto it having 15GB left. Great sound quality. But i could of bought a dell jukebox for 250$ with 20GB, i got the ipod because it looks better, and is proven reliab...le, the dell is new, and ugly, and heavier. My ipod scratches very easily, so i had to spend 30$ for a leather case.My biggest complaint is that i don't need 20 GB, i wanted to get the 10GB ipod because thats all i need. But the 10Gb ipod does not come with earphones, docking port, remote, and ext.... If i were to by the the extra accessories i would have spent 90$ more then the price of a 20Gb ipod. But i'm trying to say apple should load the 10GB with all the accessories as the 20, and 40GB ipods. But overall i'm very happy with my ipod and so far i haven't regreted the purchase. Its worth the extra price i think. In my opinion GET ONE !!!!!!!! Read more Less

If you're thinking about it.......DO IT!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 27, 2004 | 3 out of 3 found this Apple iPod 20GB review helpful

Pros: very attractive, enough space to hold all the music you could ever have, is compact, easy to use, tons of cool features, the list could go on and on!

Cons: I got it for christmas so i didnt have to deal with the price, although it's a little up there, i say go for it, it will be one of the best descisions you ever made.

GET ONE!!!!!!!!!these things are awesome. i was a mac hater before this and big on pc's, but after my experience with an iPod, i may convert. although if you're like me, they totally work just as easy with pc's as they do with macs if not... better. the accseries are kind of expenssive, but for what ur getting, its worth it. i read in another review, that it scratched easily, and they paid big bucks for a leather case, dont let this mislead you, something that you should definitely get when purchasing your iPod, is a rubber cover, its not as bulky as a case and it works great, not to mention tons less expensive. thats all i have to say other than if your reading these reviews thinking about getting one, i say to you, stop reading now and do it!!! iTuned iPod

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 19, 2004 | 2 out of 2 found this Apple iPod 20GB review helpful

Pros: smells good & tastes great too

    Cons: still looking

•••••My 15GB iPod is a never-ending daily treat. Its simple & clean design is so good looking that in & of itself is already well worth the $269.00 I paid for. That's just the beginning, however. The leather case w. belt clip (stays clipp...ed to my belt w. a vise grip-like hold) puts its cell phone counterpart to shame. Its dock, USB FireWire cable & power adapter are all purpose built & make getting started, recharging & updating a total breeze.•••••About a third of my 300+ CD collection is now on my iPod & so far it has only occupied less than 3GB. This also includes nearly 100 downloaded tunes from iTunes. All this music spanning from the mid-60s to current (from jazz to classical to rock, pop & inspirational - so they call it) is just a thumb wheel away from being cranked up. This little techno toy redefines the word "intuitive" as it's so easy to operate.•••••It'
s hard to believe that its tiny earphones pack such a high quality sound & is suprisingly distortion-free even at full volume. Once on a JetBlue flight, the earphones even worked on the DirecTV armchair plug. It was the best baseball game I ever saw (& heard) at 30k+ feet. Heck, even Iron Chef on the Food channel never sounded so good.•••••So if you're still whining about the price of an iPod, consider that it also doubles as your address book, calendar & to-do list (w/c is reminding me to import my audio books/teachings next). The iPod is truly an incredible anti-boredom machine & I swear that it drastically reduces the time waiting in line especially at the airport.•••••Did I mention that it also comes w. 3 built-in games?

    I have the 40GB Model...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 30, 2003 | 2 out of 2 found this Apple iPod 20GB review helpful

    Pros: Limitless space, fantastic accessories

Cons: Strange issues with my PC

I have the 40GB Model and LOVE it! It's sleek and functional and has an excellent array of accessories. The sound from the headphones is crystal clear. The cons: The battery doesn't last as long as it states - but there is a battery pack that ...offers 15 hours of time, even though it's a bit bulky. The software I use with it (I-tunes) is so-so. I originally used MusicMatch Jukebox which was faster to convert music onto the I-Pod and super-easy to make playlists but it mysteriously stopped recognizing my I-Pod.The big issue - and hopefully it's not a common one - is the strange PC issues. For unexplained reasons, I-tunes will disconnect my I-Pod and I'm forced to reboot my computer frequently in order for it to see the I-Pod again. I've tried the suggestion in tech support to no avail.Overall, it's money well spent! Read more Less

The Han Solo of all MP3 players,

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 14, 2003 | 2 out of 2 found this Apple iPod 20GB review helpful

Pros: Best MP3 player, voice recorder, calendar, port. drive ever

Cons: Case (included): good quality, bad design. iPod could fall out.

Samsung Napster, Dell"DJ", Creative Nomad. Not to mention the Sony NW-MS70D. All cheap knockoffs on the only good product made by Apple. I'm a PC user, always will be while Apple sticks with 1-click mouses (!!???!!!). Anyway, these othe...r MP3 players are either: heavier, larger, or have much less room than the iPod, or E, all of the above. Which other MP3 players have games like Music Quiz, or Calendars with To-Do lists, or can even fit in your pocket? Try to board a plane with that beast of a Creative Nomad: you're going to have an unwelcome X-Mas present from Federal agentsin black jumpsuits (cavity search, anyone?).Bottom line: there is no competition. The only thing the iPod lacks is a choice of color for the unit, and a color screen. but who else has those? If money is no object, then buy the iPod. Nothing else comes close. (fade to Led Zeppelin "Rock and Roll," like in those Caddy commercials.) Read more Less

    This thing rocks

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 3, 2004 | 1 out of 2 found this Apple iPod 20GB review helpful

    Pros: Ease of use, features

    Cons: A little expensive

This review is from a PC user. I read too many reviews that were biased by product loyalty. I love the PC I have but when it comes to this jukebox, I have very little that I can say bad. The hookup to the PC was very simple except that you need th...e firewire to USB adapter (at an extra cost) if your PC is not equipped with firewire connections. Once installed the music transfer worked easily and flawlessly and I do not judge myself as overly computer savvy. It was very quick to enter the songs to the playlist. The scrollbar on the ipod makes it worth the extra money alone. It makes navigating through large playlists quicker and easier. The remote is something that I did not think that I would need but have found it very handy when needing to adjust the volume and change songs while working out. The only downside to the ipod is the price. Many reviews state that Mac products are overpriced. I think that it was a little extravegant, but you do get what you pay for and if you want the best jukebox on the market then you will need to pay for it. I do not think you will be dissappointed. Don't buy apple iPods - I have owned 3!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 23, 2005

Pros: none really other than it carries the Apple name

Cons: Bugs in O/S, freezes, screen locks, buttons don't function, bad customer service,

This product should probably have not been brought to market when it was. It seems half baked. There are hundreds of people complaining about common aspects like bad battery life, system freezes and random function action. The 20 gb is now in its'...; 4th generation - tells you how many problems they had with gen 1-3. My recommmendation - buy ANYTHING but an iPod. Until Apple addresses their current customers complaints, you should run in the opposite direction. Do not be fooled by funky advertisements - this poduct is bad. If you use your 1 year warranty (none of mine lasted longer than 7 months working properly) you will be dinged for shipping after the first 6 months. They try to claim its' your problem that the battery lasts 45 minutes rather than the advertised 8 hours, but it is not. I was considering buying a couple of Apple computers for my next systems but this whole experience has turned me off the company. Read more Less

    It's the best toy ever!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 16, 2004

Pros: everything you'd want out of an MP3 Player

    Cons: None

Just received my 20GB IPod as a b-day/Xmas gift...already have 1200 songs on it and more than 2/3 of the hard drive space is still free! The sound quality is fantastic, it fits in your pocket, and you can hook it up to your car stereo through a radi...o transmitter or tape kit. I'm not crazy about the headphones, but I bought a pair that fits me more comfortably, so it's no longer an issue. Once my entire CD collection is imported, I'll still have more than 10GB of free space to play with. In short, if you want a lifetime of music at your fingertips, alphabetized by song, artist, album, playlist, whatever, do not hesitate to make this purchase. It's the best toy ever! Read more Less
