Pros: sleek and cool
Cons: hard drive is junk
I've been in computers for 25 years and have seen it all. I always stayed with PCs since I knew the operating system inside & out. I bought my two collage kids two G4s about three years ago because they really loved Macs (from school) and especially the sleek look of the G4s. They are indeed very sleek and cool looking.
The first failures were the mother boards. They were both replaced within the first year.
Then the hard drives failed. They both crashed within a year of each other and ALL their data was lost! I replaced the HD (Western Digital) myself in the first (my son's) with a Seagate Barracuda. I personally would never have a WD drive in my computer. I cannot believe Apple does in order to same a couple bucks. A few months later my daughter's crashed and she lost everything too.
Every picture, all their music, all their school work, contacts, emails, everything they had been building for 2-3 years, GONE! Maybe I've been lucky but I've thrown away Dells and IBMs after years of use without a single problem.
Be very careful in choosing a Mac. They are made in China with many inferior components. They are no better in quality than many other manufacturers. Itâs just allot of hype to me.
Why pay a premium price when you do not get the quality you would expect. PCs are half the price with often better components. A long time ago Apple had the better Op Sys but now days there is very little difference with Vista. Buy a Dell or Lenovo and save your money.
Pros: lots
Cons: none
The iMac G5 is a great computer for about anybody. With its great preinstalled applications like Garageband, where you can create your own song, or iMovie HD, where you can organize, create, or edit your own movies, you can raise you creative output to the max easily. The general design adds to its elegance, by making it more attractive than other computers, which are basically dull plastic boxes. Also, Mac OS X Tiger, included with this computer, gives you a easy and efficient way to organize, search, and do many other things with Tiger, so is said to have at least 200 new features than Mac OS X's earlier version. Over all, the iMac G5 is a great computer, inside and out, and is worth every penny.
Pros: Awesome look, easy to use, exellent OS, and comes with really cool apps
Cons: came out with new version right after I bought it.

Pros: The entire package!
Cons: Virtual PC7 (from Microsoft)
The only part of the system that I bought that I would do without if I could is Virtual PC7 which is supposed to allow me to run Windows XP Pro. The machine and OSX are everything that I've come to expect from Apple - I've been an Apple User since 94 - the highest quality hardware and an interface (OSX) that is rock solid and easy to use. Quite frankly, I like the mouse. If you need more than one button to navigate your operating system then your operating system isn't worth my time.
Pros: Everything at your fingertips
Cons: Expensive customer service
With Apple's Color Sync, you get accurate color matches - What you see on your screen is what you get on paper. A must for photo enthusiasts!
And with Virtual PC, making the switch is easy, allowing you to run all your favorite PC-only programs right from your Mac.
Movies come alive with the 20" display. And with the available 400GB hard drive and 2GB RAM, you're sure to be able to download and watch plenty!
The iMac comes pre-loaded with a ton of programs like iPhoto - the most fantastic way to fully archive your images, and Garage Band, for creating your own music from your computer, guitar, keyboard, and more!
But the most amazing feature I found with my iMac was Spotlight - Find images by keyword, or files before you've finished typing in the search bar! Window's Search DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE.
This computer just rocks.

Cons: Alsome
This computer is Alsome! I own one and its worth all the money.

Times are hard, but you don't mind spending money on something that makes life this much easier. Why buy a P.C.-theres is no reason.
The iMAC G5 will make you wonder how you ever got along without it
period.
