Pros: Apple
Cons: Apple
Everything on this mac is perfect , skin , speed , body , .....
Pros: It's all you need in one package.
Cons: My kids love it and want me to buy one for them.
If your not the IT guy at your office, this is the computer for you.
Pros: Rock solid OS, ease of use, Graphics are amazing
Cons: Price but worth it
This is my first personal mac, i use a mac pro at my school for graphic design which was a big influence for me buying one. Trust me if your on the bubble of buying because of the price it is completely worth it, or if your afraid of switching operating systems, don't be. you can pick up the OS in a half hour and the mouse can be changed to two click just by changing the a single preference. Trust me this is a solid computer all around.
Pros: anything and everything you need
Cons: If your use to a pc then it is a little different but it is worth learning how to use the mac software
I think that this is the best computer i have used. I use a pc at work and i think that useing a imac at work would benefit us more and it is much faster without having to already add memory to the hardrive. Also, with the mac all you literally have to do is plug the monitor into the outlet and it turns on. There is no extra cords or modem. The moden is built right in to the monitor.
Pros: please wait about 2 minutew ,you will see many great products
Cons: hi

Pros: everything
Cons: none
First mac and love it.....great for whole family......Will never buy a pc again.....fast, responsive, works flawlessly with ipods and bluetooth keyboard mouse and cell phones.....great phone support as well...THEY EVEN SPEAK CLEAR ENGLISH!
Pros: Ahh... The beauty of a Mac!
Cons: Have to buy Office, some programs are not compatible...but is that really that bad of a con?
This is my first P.C. ever! I have always wanted a Mac and wanted to wait until I could get just what I wanted. Since I have never had my own computer I don't have to de-program myself from the "main-stream" PC world. I will just go out and by my software and if I can't downlaod certain things, oh well who cares...I have an iMac!
Pros: fast start up, Great out of the box.
Cons: no games, buying Office and Quicken again
I have had PCs for years, and when my two year old PC finally stopped working properly, I made the switch. The computer jumps up to life so fast, its amazing. I would have to start my old pc, walk away , and come back 10 -15 minutes later to use it. If I tried earlier, it would just freeze up. Yes, I know I have more software installed on my old PC, but the system just seems to work better. I stopped using IE years ago and I can still use Firefox with the MAc. I will have to buy work 08 and Quicken for Macs, but other than that, I still feel like I got a deal. I screen is gret and big..not the finest resolution, but I won't be running Halo 3 on this machine anyway. I will just keep all my flat panels and as my old PCs die, just buy Mac minis and move forward. Only been a month , but I am stil in love wtth it.
Pros: Great processing speed, great memory, ease of use, and windows capable
Cons: Apple online and telephone support can be fussy
I love Apple.
Just wanted to get that out there. I have the PowerPC earlier version of this computer (iMac). I love it, and regarding the specs that I've read about this new iMac, it sounds great to me.
I've never had trouble using any Apple product. The iMac is a very reliable machine. If your looking for great performance, the iMac is your best bet. If you want to take the next step, go for the Apple Mac Pro desktop computer. It's abilities are unrivaled.
I can't give this review a perfect score however. I've been slightly disappointed with Apple's support line. Its in some ways, a subscription service. You need to have your computer or other product covered by Apple Care, which can be pricy. As long as you are covered by Apple Care, you should have no problem finding help with Apple's Support line. However if you aren't covered, or haven't renewed your subscription to Apple Care, you might have a bit of a problem getting phone support. Apple does have a great, free database of support info on they're website as well. All new Mac computers come with a warranty and an Apple Care plan, I believe.
Pros: Everything
Cons: none
This replaced my previous iMac from four years ago, and I'm very impressed. I look at a pc and it looks so confusing. I try to tell me friends, an Apple is so easy, and it doesn't crash, but they don't want to spend the extra money. What they don't realize is, everyone around me has had trouble with there computers. I finally had problems with my old mac and when I went to get it fixed I bought a new one. I love this one. I wish my friends would just try it, they are so intimidated, they just don't realize how easy it is and how much it has to offer. It really is the pc's that are so confusing and time consuming. It would take a lot for me to change my mind. A lot less clutter and less confusion. EASY. A little getting use to but not much.
Pros: It works, it keeps working and it doesn't break!
Cons: None
One reviewer said for $1500 it would be better to buy a better PC and be able to fix it himself. What a contradiction! If the PC is "better"
; why would it break? My most recent PC has the dreaded Blue Screen of death. I have never had to have a Mac fixed! When I asked one service engineer (who told me he uses a Mac at home) if he serviced Macs, he said "no way, they don't go wrong so I'd never make a living".
This latest iMac is so sleek and great to work with. The price tag might seem high but think of the efficiency, the security, the amazing software that comes with the machine (no extra outlays), and then you will begin to appreciate its real value.
How much does it cost to upgrade to Vista? Which version is best? With Apple, it's one system that does everything at a fraction of the cost to upgrade to Vista. This needs to be considered when looking at the price tag.
Tiger is over 2 years old but still superior to Vista. From previews of Leopard (due soon), it seems Vista will be YEARS behind again. Apple is simplicity with functionality and is a joy to use.
Finally, I rated everything as 5 Star except "Support&quo
t;. The reason is because over many years, I never had reason to call support! But I'm sure they're nice guys.
Pros: Mac Based, Can run Windows, Great Design, Lots More Pro's.
Cons: Little to Upgrade, fingerprints on screen, only 1Gb Standard (needs 2GB), Underpowered GPU (also no option to upgrade to better GPU).
The iMac has a great design with its Glass and Aluminum style.
The iMac has been noted for its ability to run windows via boot camp has come up with one of the best WEI scores coming in at 5.0 for a consumer product.
Whist there is lots going for the iMac it does have some little problems, the first being the only thing the user can upgrade without breaking the warranty is the RAM. Also connected with RAM is the lack of RAM with 1GB being standard on all models, requiring the user to pay for either apple to upgrade them or to buy it them self and install it, the iMac could do with a least 2GB as standard. The GPU is one area Apple has always overlooked in their history in consumer products and whist the HD2600 is a alright it could do with being changed to a NVIDIA 8600GT instead which offers much greater performance, whist keeping DX10 compatibility. The last problem I came across is that the screen easily picks up fingerprints, although it should be noted that Apple Includes a Cloth to wipe the screen.
Whist this review seems mosty negative, I belive the iMac the be one of the best Consumer all-in-one computers on the market and would recommend it to most people.
Hope this helps,
Paul Menzies
Pros: Everything
Cons: None
It's by all means the most elegant desktop computer ever, yet it's so powerful.
The screen is amazing, real HD.
Ofcourse the best thing about it is that it's a Mac not an annoying Windows PC that you'll spend your time fixing it rather than using it.
Some people complain that it's difficult to open it's case up for fixing, but why you wanna do that? It's an Apple product which means durability and minimum risk for damage.
I recommend this Desktop to anyone who can afford it.
