    Pros: Nice Big Screen, Minimal Equipment Clutter

    Cons: Stock OS Not so Great

    A family member surprised me with this iMAC20 on Christmas Day. I was slowly looking at newer computers, but wasn't even considering an Apple MAC. I have already fallen in love with the nice big screen and the minimal equipment clutter. The keyb...oard could have used a little more convenience features compared to my old HP, but I can get around that. My 3 bar (just OK) ratings are for things that are still up in the air. These "issues" focus around the MAC OS Leopard operating system. I don't like it. It isn't right for my needs. Microsoft Windows XP in my old computer did everything that I needed it to do and was easy to operate. I understand that the iMAC20 will run Windows also. So, when I install that, maybe these "issues" will be cleared up and "just OK" will be upgraded. Overall, the machine is great, but the stock operating system, I can do without. Read more Less

    Pros: Display. Speed.

    Cons: none.

    The display on this thing is amazing. I really like the speed and ho it is ready to go right out of the box. I like the software that comes on it. I also liked how I could get office for it. My photos look really amazing on th screen as well.

    Apple not so great

    Pros: fast, big screen

    Cons: web surfing, software pricey, basic OS not so great without upgrades

    Some web pages caused mine to run very slowly locking up all computer controls forcing me to cut power and reboot. Lost all my files and data. Apple techs were very kind and tried to help us recover data but to no avail. Buy an external hard drive if... you get a MAC. I won't buy another one, I'd rather buy a PC laptop and external HD. MAC's are overpriced in Canada. It is a solid well built unit but not all webages are MAC friendly mine locked up on Autotrader.ca, would not power down without unplugging it.When it booted up the screen looked like a negative image that I couldn't return to normal so I had to unplug it again and when it powered up had erased all files but my basic OS. It has locked up several time previously even for my wife forcing her to call Apple who are very helpful. My wife still likes it but when it dies I will replace it with a PC which I believe is far better value overall. I'm using a 5 yr old laptop with XP and other than my toddler breaking the keyboard($100 repair) it still works fine. The MAC set me back $2400 CAD with a printer, laptop only $1200 ( no printer). Those MAC ads are pure fantasy do your due dilligence and look for real value not just "cool" factor, they're not so great. Read more Less
