    Being a poor podcaster, I would have loved the 17" Powerbook, but couldn't afford one. But I am still amazed that more people haven't switched to Mac. I can work with all of the documents from the dark side (Windows) but I have the stabi...ltiy and reliability of the Mac OS. Read more Less

    Pros: user freindly Applications and weight

    Cons: shorter than expected battery life.

    My business is residentail computer repair so I see alot of computers on a daily basis. The Apple products are the best at reliabilty and once you become acustomed to the OS its a breeze. I use iweb to share photo's of my son's baseball team... to all the team parents and I get nothing but excellent feedback. Surfing the web is easier because there has been no threats from virus's and I save money by not having to buy antivirus or spyware software. Apple comes with it's own utilities for disk maintanance and also has a very good no nonsense firewall to keep out intruders.with the firewall you have many settings to make your computer safe and if your abit handy with your computer you can change settings to include stealth mode.Applecare has been exceptional with phone support as well as walkins to the apple store, and you will get someone who you can understand as well.Last but not least is the battery life, my battery lasts about 3 hours of surfing may 2 if iam working on something like iweb. I have purchased an extra battery but to tell you the truth, if I'm on the computer longer than an hour I need to take a break. Read more Less

    Pros: Compact design, wonderful trackpad, smooth keys, brigh display

    Cons: very hot, not as fast as one would hope, very delicate screen

    I have this laptop an I love it there are more pros then I could name. Great for anyone who travels a lot and needs a relable sleek laptop. Would recomend it to everyone

    Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, OSX

    Cons: Limited battery, sometimes a little slow

    This is my first Mac. I'm hooked after switching and with Bootcamp and Parallels to run Windows when necessary on the new Intel machines I probably won't buy another PC. You can't beat OSX and the other Apple software that comes with the ...machine. Read more Less

    Pros: Sleek and simple design, fast, huge memory, WiFi is superb, a lot of connectivity options, a lot of bundled softwares

    Cons: battery life is quite short

    I decided to get a notebook. I set some standards to be met and must be from 70 to a hundred grand. Fast, huge memory for storing things, nice design, small enough to be easily carried around, a lot of connectivity options... and more. I ended up buy...ing Apple's 12 inch Powerbook G4. It didn't just meet my specs, it exceeded them. I love it. Why? A brushed aluminum casing, aesthetically unmatched, beautiful and vibrant screen, keyboard is very responsive, ports are placed on one side for a clean look, and a slot-loading optical drive. The design is sleek and simple and yet very elegant and professional looking. Packed with a fast processor, 80 GB hard drive, %!@ MB RAM, slot-load CD-DVD writer, WiFi, bluetooth, firewire support, built in modem and ethernet. what's more interesting is this. I was listening to music then I connected to the internet and surfed, then I opened iPhotos to upload some of my pics, then as I waited for it to upload I opened Powerpoint to make a presentation for my report and I jumped from 1 app to another with no lag whatsoever. Hmmm... this is weird. Why isn't it crashing? Is this suppose to be happening? I thought that after running 3 or 4 apps all at the same time would be detrimental?     Mac's are the best laptops

    I have had my laptop for a year now, and it is a very good laptop. The screen is nice and the keys are perfect. It is easy to operate and understand.

    The G4 isn't the greatest laptop. It's okay for the average user but unfortunately, in a couple of years, it won't even be good enough for that. The lack of RAM will force you to upgrade to at least a 1 gb in a year, 2 max. The processor ...speed was very disappointing at 1.5 ghz and doesn't do great when running multiple, average resource-demanding program. The graphics is a plus however. The very powerful card is a nice bonus if you play a lot of games. The size is also good if you're looking for a small laptop. Overall, this laptop is mediocre and these days, with fast release of all the processors, graphics cards, etc. mediocre is only mediocre for a very short while. Read more Less

    After becoming fed up with doing graphics in Windows, I switched to a mac a year ago. The user interface feels so much more natural than Windows, mainly because you don't have to deal with the extra window bit. If you open Word in Windows you can... only see the Word documents you have open, everything else is blocked by their container or "window". Basically on a Mac I can move all the documents I have open around on the screen as if they were separate pieces of paper lying on my desk. The fact that my operating system has yet to freeze is a blessing upon itself. A few applications may freeze now and then, but they can be closed via Option-Apple-Esc (a.k.a. Control-Alt-Delete). When it comes to installing applications it's easy, all you have to do is drag the application into the Application folder. Some key problems are gaming, uninstalling, and shortcuts. Unless your video game was made by Blizzard, it is probably not cross platform (meaning you can't play it on a Mac). If you buy a new Mac with Intel Core Duo, you can install Bootcamp and Windows to solve this problem. As for uninstalling, you have to do a quick search and delete using "Spotlight" to find all the files. If you don't want to do this simple step then buy AppZapper which will do it for you. Shortcuts look cryptic. I still don't know which key the "sign that looks like #" is or a "horizontal line with a dash" means, and I just figured out that an up arrow means shift. To sum it all up, if you don't care for graphics then it's probably not for you. However, if you want an extreamly stable system and eye candy to boot, then indulge yourself with this Mac.     Apple iBook G4 Laptop

    Pros: Awesome graphics, fast, not hard to use

    I recently recieved an Apple iBook G4 laptop with my school. I think it is of great quality, and is super fast! The graphics are AMAZINGLY good, and it isn't hard to use! In fact, it's about the easiest to use computer I've ever used! I l...ove the programs Journler, Comic Life, and the speech functions. They used to say, sometime laptops will communicate, and Apple has made that possible! The battery doesn't last too long, but it doesn't last too little either. I love my Apple laptop, and I plan to buy it from my school when I graduate!!! Read more Less

    My biggest complaint so far is the short battery life. On a couple of occasions, I've been out for the day and the battery has died long before I was ready to stop taking pictures. Also, you'll probably want to buy a bigger memory card, since... you can only take a few high-resolution photos using the one that ships with the camera. Other than that, this camera is a great value, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. Read more Less
