Italian pop singer Antonella Bucci made her debut while playing the role of Mary Magdalene in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar at her school. It was in 1989 when the artist decided to become a professional, after winning Castrocaro's New Voices contest with her song "C'e Un Motivo In Piu." That same year, local label DDD signed her up.
