    Carly's best album from the others...

    This album I loved the most. After "The Best Of Carly Simon" came out, Carly went in a slightly different direction, but still maintaining the contemporary soft feel of her music. She always writes honest lyrics about either herself or other people... in her life. This album has accompaniment by Doobie Brothers' Michael McDonald as well as James Taylor (again). The producer of this album, if you didn't already know, was also the producer of Van Halen's first six heavy-metal albums. THAT'S why this sounds so good! Try out these songs: "It Keeps You Runnin'", "Cow Town", "Be With Me." Read more Less

    By now, Carly Simon's records were becoming smoother and smoother, and Another Passenger was more of the same. Here, she shows off what she's learned from hanging around with the Doobie Brothers and Little Feat on her take of Michael McDonald's "It Keeps You Runnin'." Recorded in California, it sounds like it, and while that's not bad, it also detracts from the fact that Carly always had a distinct sound all her own. James Chrispell, All Music Guide
