Read most of all of LM Montgomery's Anne Of Green Gables books, but also loved seeing the screen version, it was first shown on the Discovery Channel, but I viewed Anne of Green Gables on PBS Thirteen and loved watching it. Later they showed Anne of Avonlea, loved that too, with the two they tried to combine three or five of LM's books, they kept to the book. The third one I did not like, the producers didn't keep to the books that LM wrote, it wasn't good. I rented Anne Of Green Gables and Avonlea VHS so many times I can't count.

I haven't ever written a review before, but I guess I will summerize by saying if any story deserved to be labeled "classic" this is definitely one.
You laugh, you cry, you can't wait to see what comes next. It has your heart from the very start.

This movie really touch the heart of my soul. I watched it with my 8th grade class and my teacher forgot all about the writing assignment we had to do because it was so intense. No movie of old time has ever been that moving to me. It explains every girls problems. And guys you can get tips on how to impress the girls!! I hope this review is helpful and if you want to see what happens to Gilbert and Anne see Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel and Anne of Green Gables: the continuing story and Anne of Avonlea.

I rarely buy DVDs unless I'm drawn back to them over and over again. This one was a must buy because of the photography, story-line and features. A pleasure to have.

I LOOOOOVE the Movie!! I have the complete set of books plus the VHS plus the DVD....need i say more on how i feel about the movie? I first saw it when we were required to watch it for school back in 6th grade..that was when i frist fell inlove with Anne(with an E) Shirley and Gilbert Blythe (he is simply too irresistable!!) and all their friends...a girls childhood would not be complete if she hasn't seen this movie version....i could spend the entire day watching it over and over again and still be wanting more of it!!!!

Aaaaah, one of my favorites. Kevin Sullivan brought the novel to life in brilliant color. Megan Follows is the perfect Anne with an 'e'. A wonderful movie!

Megan Follows is simply superlative in the role of Anne Shirley, an orphaned child who finds her way into the home of Merilla Cuthburt and her brother, Matthew, during the turn of the 19th century in Nova Scotia, Canada.
The story follows her growth and eventual acceptance into the Cuthburt family and how they came to realize that they were all indeed kindred spirits.
It's a fabulous viewing for the entire family. And I can promise you that once you watch the first 5 minutes, you won't be able to stop until it's finished! I highly recommend that you follow up your viewing of Anne of Green Gables with its sequel, Anne of Avonlee.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoExcellent

I thought it was going to be another boring kids movie. Boy was I wrong! The film keeps your attention, and doesn't let it go. Megan Follows (the actress) does an amazing job! I now have to find the sequels for my family to watch, I can't wait!!

I used to read the series, and seeing this
movie brought back such good feelings of
being younger and having a more simpler
