Cinematography and special effects were impressive
Pros: Foley effects were acceptable
Cons: No idea what features means....
I waited years to see the movie version of Phantom. I listened to the CD of the stage version with Sarah and Michael and fell in love with the whole story. This movie was a total disappointment... the main characters could not sing the roles. The characters I had come to know were totally diluted. The enitire soul of the original was destroyed for me.

Pros: Wonderful cast, choreography, and costume

After seeing Phantom live on Broadway, I was eager to see the movie...and I was not disappointed. The overall story was maintained and not compromised, as in many theater-to-film movies I have seen. The emotion of the movie was captured in such a way that I felt almost if as I were still sitting in the theater watching it...from the famous chandelier scene to the very end, this will remain one of my all time favorite movies to watch time and time again.

The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of a disfigured musical genius who haunts the catacombs beneath the Paris Opera House, waging a reign of terror over its occupants.
When he falls fatally in love with the lovely young soprano Christine, the Phantom devotes himself to creating a new star for the Opera. But she has another admirer, her childhood sweetheart Raoul, the dashing young Vicompte de Chagny. The Phantom's fury at her betrayal becomes murderous. He hatches a plot to win her back and in a dramatic and tense climax Christine is forced to choose between Raoul and the Phantom - her Angel of Music.
The stage musical sensation is magically and hauntingly transformed by director Joel Schumacher's into a lavish film production, sweeping audiences to new heights of sight and sound grandeur. Cons: the fact that there aren't any!
This is one of my favorite movies. The music is great and the actors do a good job. My only regret is that it doesn't have a sequel because in my oppinion, every good movie needs a sequel. It was just a really great movie! You'll especially like it if you're into music and stuff.

The Phantom of the Opera is a great movie! It is made after the famous Broadway show and it really lives up to its name. This movie is great to look at, the music is wonderful, and the actors can actually act and sing even better! If you are a fan of the show or even if you just like plays or music or even just a good story, this movie is for you!

Besides what people say about Emmy as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, I loved her voice. Some people say she isn't up to par with others but I say she's wonderful and I bet she can sing much better than the people that say that. I love the story line and the picture was great. Not to mention the Phantom (Gerard Butler) is very handsome and not bad to look at!! =)

I love this movie very much. So, much, that I let my friends see it with me ,(at first they said it's boring just because it's a musical) and they fell in love instantly. Who could blame them? The music, the productions, the costumes.... wow, and all their voices are amazing. I have not heard of Emmy Rossum, but after this movie, i worship her every move! Go to your nearest video store, pick up a copy, see it... stop.... finish the ending... and repeat!!!!!! ^^
