How could you not love the 80's when veiwing this movie?1 How could you not think about this movie when you think about the 80's?! Who didn't cry when Sidney killed himself over trashy Lorraine? And that hook by Joe Cocker and Annette just took over the 80's movie soundtracks!!! I'm a product of the 80's and even I can appreciate this classic MASTERPIECE!

An Officer and a Gentleman is one of my favorite movies. It was wonderfully acted and Richard Gere deserved to be nominated as did the female that played his lover. Louis Gosset, Jr. rightfully deserved earning his Oscar because he also did a fantastic job. The movie was made very well and portrayed many of life's adversities. I really enjoyed this movie and suggest that if you have not seen it, drop everything and go rent it right NOW!

i saw the movie twice when i was a school girl in the year.
the story was good and i think richard gere had done a good job in performing it. the story told us that we had to face difficulties in our life, we had to solve it and insist what we targeted.Was this review helpful? Yes - No
